After I had gotten the dress on and made sure that I looked okay. I smiled slight at myself in the mirror. For being held as a slave for a man that I didn't even know, I looked okay. Besides the bags under my eyes and a few cuts on my arms. Checking my hair again, I opened the door and made my way downstairs. The smell of fresh cooking food hit my nose and I smiled, my white teeth showing. I hadn't seen Chip or Mr. Hill at all, which I was quite happy with as I stepped into the kitchen, seeing Aby standing by the counter as she was mixing things up in a bowl. I then noticed the dress she was wearing, her hair pulled up with her bangs handing off from the side of her head, she looked beautiful. A soft snoring came from the table against the wall and I peeked over to see Heath, leaning forward, his face pressed onto the table, sleeping. I couldn't help but smile.
"Skyler?"
I spun around to see Aby looking at me, the bowl in her hand as she kept on mixing. "You got changed fast." She laughed, looking at me up and down. "He picked out a good dress." She said looking back at me, her eyes sparking.
"He?" I said trying to figure out who she meet.
"Ayden." She give a soft smile before setting the bowl on the counter and running her figure across the page of a cook book.
I felt my heart stop. "Ayden, as in Chip." I said dryly, and Aby just laughed under her breath.
"Yes, Ayden, Master Hill kicked him out of the house and told him he could only come back when he had the clothing he needed for us." She moved the bowl over to the stove and started pouring what was inside into a pot.
I looked back at Heath, his arms covering his face so I couldn't see if he awoke. Instead of bugging Heath, I walked over to Aby and started to flip through the cook book, seeing what I could maybe cook. That's when I say something and I quickly flipped back to the page. Buffalo Ranch Chicken Casserole was printed across and I looked over at Aby.
"Can I make this?" I asked, and Aby looked past her shoulder, reading the name printed across the page.
"Go ahead. The more food, the happier Master." She said and I quickly went to work. Pulling out everything I needed, I started to get to work.
I never had soon much fun cooking, Aby had turned on some music and let me tell you, it was fun. It kinda brushed off all of the stress and fear I had as I made the food, feeling like I was back at home with mom, cooking like we both always did and putting frosting on each other's noses at times. Man, did I miss her. I wonder if she is okay. But I shock that out when I notice Heath was waking up, running his hands across his face as he let out a slight moan, sitting up.
"Hey sleepy Heath!" Aby called and Heath looked over at us, squinting his eyes slightly.
I just kept at work until a hand brushed past my arm, making me yelp and quickly pull away, only to see that it was Heath, some of the food on his finger before he licked it off. Making me look at him for a moment as a smile slowly went across his face.
" Buffalo Ranch Chicken Casserole? Good chose." He laughed a little. I just hit him with the spoon and that just got a laugh from Aby.
She was about to say something when a faint ding of a doorbell took place and both Heath and I looked over at Aby who dropped the spoon in her hand. Colton had came racing from wherever he was and stopped by the kitchen, looking at Aby who quickly took my food and placed in the oven, looking at Colton.
"Answer is." She said quickly pulling drinks out along with glass cups.
Heath and I just both listened to the door unlocking and Colton's voice speaking up.
"Hello." He greeted and I heard a light yawn by the door. I looked over at Aby and she must of heard it too because she mouthed to me,
"Go help him." I quickly nodded and stepped out into the living a room, the breeze from outside hitting my dress, making my legs go a little cold.
Standing by the door was a man who looked fairly strong, his hair having lines of gray that made him look more handsome then old and I stopped by Colton's side, noticing a boy, who had the same eyes as the man, but yet, he hand more hair on his head then the man.
"Hello what?" The man looking at Colton and I looked at Colton from the corner of my eyes. He started shaking a little.
"Hello, sir.." Colton said looking down and I know I needed to step in. Putting on a fake smile, I turned towards the both of them, feeling the boy's eyes on me.
"Would you like me to take your jacket, sir?" I asked, smiling the best fake one I ever have and it must of worked because the man smiled, only a pinch.
"Funny, Mr. Hill would normally greet me but he sent his pets instead. Cute." He stepped in and I looked away, my eyes going slightly large as a shirtless Chip walked into the living room, reading the newspaper.
I looked back at the man, looking at him up and down. I already didn't like him. He had one large bad taste already. I nearly jumped, again, when someone's hold hand grabbed at my elbow and I turned to see it was Chip, his abs exposed to the world and I thought my cheeks might of gone red. His black wild hair wet showing that he must of just gotten out to the shower.
"Mr. James! What's the problem?" He said smiling and I couldn't tell if it was fact or real. Man, he was good.
"Ayden Hill. I can tell you a thousand problems right now, but that's for another- where is your shirt?" The man who Chip called Mr. James said, looking at Chip exposed chest. I thought I saw Chip's jaw tighten when Mr. James called him by his real name.
Chip just smiled, his eyes narrowing. I looked down to see that his cold hand still had a good hold on my elbow.
"Please, Mr. James, you and your son take a seat, anywhere, my father's servants well bring you anything you want and I'm sure my father well be down here any minute." He said slightly pushing me to the side and I just bit my tongue from trying to curse at him.
After Mr. James sat down, he quickly called for us. And instead of servants, he yelled, "Pets! Bring me a drink." Oooh, I was so close to losing it with this man. But the one thing that did catch my attention was his son, who stood up and walked around the room, looking at the empty chairs, his hands placed in his pockets as he looked at some of the large paints. I decided to take a chance and I walked over to him, a drink in hand in case he wanted one.
"Sir." I stopped a few feet away just in case he didn't want me around.
He looked up, his eyes scanning around the room until the landed on me, and he turned his full attention towards me.
"I was wondering if you would like a drink, sir." I said lifting up the drink slightly.
"Tobias." He said, and I raised a eyebrow in confusion.
"Call me Tobias, not sir please." He said softly stepping closer and taking the drink from my hand. His skin was so smooth when it brushed against my skin and I swallowed hard. He was so gentle. He was nothing like his father so far.
I nodded at him and left, making my way upstairs to get Mr. Hill. I was close to the what I hopped was the Master's bedroom and when I got closer, I stopped a few feet away from a door that was close and I heard Chip's voice. It was just barely above a whisper and I pressed my ear to wall. I know I shouldn't be ease-dropping, but something sounded different in Chip's voice. I thought I was going to be able to listen to what he was saying but I was wrong.
"Det är jag. Det är nästan tid."(1) is all I heard and I just pulled back from the wall.
Chip was up to something.
(1) It's me. It's almost time.
