Son Hwaryun's POV
I stared blankly at the window, seeing the grey clouds in the dark sky. Tiny droplets of the rain rolled down on the window.
I looked down at the white sheet of paper in my lap before bringing it back to the window. I heaved out a sigh.
Hello.. Seoul.
This is the place where I'll have a fresh start of my life. Where I would learn to depend on my own now.
The bus came to a stop and I stood up, pulling my luggage with me and got off the bus. Standing on the waiting shed, I realised something.
"Shit." I cursed under my breath, my eyes darted at the bus which already left.
"Ugh! Whyyyy!?" I whined and stomped my feet on the ground a few times.
How stupid of me to leave my umbrella on the bus! Thanks for occupying my thoughts alot, brain.
Looks like the rain isn't going to stop anytime soon. The apartment building is only a few kilometers from here. I took in a deep breath, preparing for what's going to happen.
Pulling my luggage with me, I ran with all my might. Darn it! This is slowing me down.
After 4 minutes, I reached the apartment building. I stuck out my bottom lip and went inside, not caring if I'm wet or what. The building is big..
I knocked on the room that had the number '101' on it. The door opened and I was greeted by an old lady, she must be the landlord.
"Hello, I'm the new tennant who's gonna move in room 407." I bowed to show my respect to elders, her eyes lit up upon hearing the word 'new'.
"Ah I was expecting for you to come! Such a pretty young lady you are. Wait I'll get the key to your room."
... Pretty?
Erm..
"Here you go, your room is on the fourth floor. Just come here if you need anything dear." She told me and smiled gently, I smiled at her in return and bowed again before turning around, walking away.
I stepped inside the elevator, wiping my face with my handkerchief.
Can't wait to change into something warmer..
Just before the elevator door closes, a guy stepped in. I inspected him secretly. I guess he's only a student, like me, judging by the uniform that he is wearing at this moment. He's good-looking though, gosh haha.
Speaking of that... Supposedly, It's gonna be my first day in Seoul High next week. I have to stop by there tomorrow to pick up my uniform, schedule, locker number, and also my textbooks.
But let's not worry about it today, I am too tired at this moment honestly. I glanced at the guy again only to catch him staring at me. We both looked away, me, somewhat embarassed.
. . .
. . .
. . .
. . .
This is really awkward. The elevator came to a halt, this is it. The fourth floor. I walked out of the elevator, catching a glimpse at the guy before the door closes.
"Phew.." I sighed in relief before proceeding to find my new apartment. Once I saw it, I unlocked the door with the key and entered the room.
Not bad..
Better than I expected though, the apartment is enough for two people. But I'm gonna live by myself, so I might have to make a few changes here and there.
Maybe turn the extra room into a study room, so I can have a space for my school works and whatnot.
And the apartment is already fully-furnished, hmm, maybe the previous tennant here left the place like this I guess? Ugh, this is too much for me~
I placed my shoes near the doorstep, dragging my feet across the floor and went straight to the bedroom. The bathroom is just in the next door, I'll take a quick rinse before I call the day.
I lie down the bed, thousands of thoughts running through my head.
Why did I chose to live alone? And why did I want to have a fresh start in Seoul?
Well, let's just say that I got sick of hearing my parents argue all the time. That I left our house in Busan without their permission. Never knew that this is where my life would end up to.
Last month, my mother came into my room, telling me that her and father are gonna file an annulment. Of course, as a daughter, it was hard for me to accept that.
Whenever I think about this, it felt like it was all my fault why my parents always argue.
I breathed out heavily, closing my eyes. Hoping that my new life here would help me forget about it. It's ok if it's for a short moment.
As long as I get it off my mind.
