Chapter 1: 14 Hours

Shai's POV

" Flight 298 now boarding Zone 2. I repeat Zone 2 may now board."

" Mom! That's us! We're in Zone 2! C'mon!" I yelled to my mom who was seated with my brother,Sam, by the electric plug.

We were taking a plane back to Australia.

My dad was finally promoted to manager at his company's major branch. He started off there too but in order to be in a higher position you'd have to move from location to location. We first moved away when I was 9. I'm now 17.

After living in America for 3 years, London for 3 years & back to California for 1 year and a half we're finally moving back to Australia. And thankfully we will be staying here permanently!

I was born in Australia on the same day as my cousin Calum. Neat right? I know! Through all the moving around the world I've kept close-touch to my 1st cousins from my dad's side. We'd skype,text & use those other social media websites.

We'd eventually visit home every year or so. Therefore our bonds wouldn't be broken. My cousin Calum had recently started a band & they've gotten well-known. So has his sister Mali-koa. Talent really runs in their family. Same with my brother,Sam. He can really shred it on the drums & guitar. But when it comes to me, I'm not good at anything but blogging, eating & technical informationl/use.

I'm far from the musical talents compared to the rest of my family, I can only play piano & the ukelele. I prefer to stick to my graphic designing & computer shows.

How long have I been thinking?

" Shai! SHAI! SHAI!!!!" Sam yelled at me.

" Ow! What?" I asked while I wacked the 15 year old.

" Give the lady your boarding pass! Gee, she's been waiting centuries now!"

" Oh. Haha, oops. Sorry." I handed the attendant my passport & boarding pass.

" Thank You. Have a safe flight."

My dad would be waiting for us at the airport and we'd be staying at my cousin's house for a while. How exciting!

I walked through the gate and couldn't be any happier. A 14 hour flight isn't so bad...is it?

* fast forward to flight*

" Sam! Will you just stay still!" Sam squirmed in his seat numerous times already. It was getting on my nerves heaps.

" I don't like aisle seats! Can we please trade? " He begged trying to make a puppy face.

I laughed a bit causing a few people to look at me.

" Do not do that face again. Fine fine. I told you we should've traded at first! Hurry up before we wake mum!"

Sam & I got up and quickly got in our new seats. A wee bit after sitting down, Sam turned to me.

" What is it?" I asked pausing my music.

" How many more hours til' we get home?" He asked while resting his elbows on the table and putting his head on his hands.

" Umm..about 4 more. I can't wait! " I clapped.

" I heard we're staying at Uncle ___ & Aunt____'s house til' they finish cleaning and arranging our house."

" Yeah we are. It's been a year since we've seen them! I can't wait to see Mali & Cal again. I know that Calum wants you to meet his bandmates. To show off your skills.What about you?"

" Stoked. Ha, what skills? I kinda just wanna sleep. I'm quite tired. Wake me up when we're near. Night Shai." He yawned and rested his head on the table, causing his snapback to loosen.

" Night Sammy. " I took his hat and put it on my lap.

I felt kinda tired too. Soon, I drifted into a deep slumber.

So yeah! How was that? I typed it on my phone while I was on an airplane. Then I e-mailed it to myself and I still need to check for any grammatical errors!
