"Agent D.C. The director would like to see you." A familiar, feminine voice greeted me as I awoke from my slumber.
"Thank you, F.I.L.L.S." I stated as I sat up and stretched my muscles, rubbing my eyes to rid them of the sleep. I assembled my armor and grabbed my helmet, then glanced at the mirror and smiled at the picture stuck in the corner. A man held my mother's hand as my small, three year old body was perched on his hip. The love radiating from the picture could be felt to anyone who gazed upon it. I touched the faces and swiftly left the room, burying the memories underneath my mask. I calmly walked into the directors office, "you wanted to see me sir?"
The director looked up, "ah, yes, Agent D.C." He stood to his feet and walked towards, I swallowed my fear and stood still. He slowly circled my rigid form, like a predator stalking their prey. "I believe you know of this?" He asked as he gestured towards the package we obtained over a week ago.
I nodded my head, "yes, sir. But what does this," I gestures towards the package, "have to do with me?"
The director smirked, something that chilled me to the bone. "Alpha?" He asked.
A small, white figure appeared. "Director?" He asked in reply, he seemed tired and scared. However, I didn't know how a metal container had a conscious. Then, the tiny man glanced over at me and froze. I could feel and see the shock well up in his form. I furrowed my brow in confusion; "Mia...?" He softly whispered. My breath caught in my throat as my knees buckled and I crumbled to the floor. I shook my head against the realization of why I was called here, why this meeting was taking place. I lifted my head and stared at the Alpha, who was everything my father was. Footsteps approached me and I tried to moved away from the figure that towered over my paralyzed body. The person knelt and titled my chin. I could feel the lump crawl up my throat as I met the green eyes that greeted me every time I look in the mirror. He was going to try, over and over, until he got her right and I wanted to run and hide from the broken and beaten man that used to be exactly like the Alpha; but now, the unit was nothing but a distant representation, memory, of the man before me. I reached up and whipped the tears off of my cheeks as the director smiled once more.
He stood and started walking out of the room; "Send her to Blood Gulch after the surgery." My head snapped up to meet his eyes, which were cold.
I flinched and glanced away; "Wait, what surgery?!" I yelled. All I got in reply was the door closing, I turned around to stare at Alpha.
He looked at me with fear, "Run..." He whispered.
I sprinted towards the door, only for it to be locked. I banged on it, feeling the fear as well as the tears start trailing their way down my face. I was gasping for air, when the counselor stepped towards me. "Stay the fuck away from me!" I yelled as I started backing away from him. He calmly advanced towards me, I meet Alpha's eyes and knew it was over.
The last thing I remember was a voice yelling "Mia!" before I sank to the ground, unconscious.
