I found myself dreaming
In silver and gold
Like a scene from a movie
That every broken heart knows
It didn't feel real at first. Trying to pull Arthur to the lake but my strength wasn't enough I just fall to the ground Arthur in my arms.
"Just hold me." He says. That's all my ears pick up so I do. I lay my forehead on his listening to him take in a couple of shaky breaths. "I'll always love you Merlin."
"I'll always love you too Arthur. You'll always be my king." I whisper. I feel his hand come to the back of my head petting slowly and softly.
We were walking on moonlight
And you pulled me close
Split second and you disappeared
And then I was all alone
I kiss his nose softly making him smile softly at me. He pulled me into a kiss his lips still warm and chapped like always. When I don't feel him kiss me back anymore I pull away resting my head back on his forehead.
"Don't leave me please. Arthur! Please! You promised never to leave me alone!" I shook him trying to get a response out of him but nothing came. It felt like my whole world was taken from me everything felt empty. I shake him again.
"Please just wake up Arthur. I need you." I pull back looking down at him. With his eyes closed he just looks like he is sleeping. I brush my fingers through his hair smiling at him. I press another kiss to his lips.
"My king forever." I whisper to him.
I woke up in tears
With you by my side
A breath of relief
And I realized
No, we're not promised tomorrow
I gasped gripping my chest taking in my surroundings. The room is dark, clothes scattered around the room, papers all over the ground. I look next to me Arthur is next to me I can't hold back the tears, with a shaky hand I reach my hand out brushing my fingertips against his cheek. The light touch wakes Arthur it takes him a few seconds he pulls me against him chest.
"What happened?" He asked softly kissing my cheek.
"Nothing just hold me, okay?" He doesn't say anything else just pulling me closer. His hand rubs up and down my back lightly. "I'll love you forever Arthur I promise."
"I know Merlin." He leaves a lingering kiss on my forehead then lays back down. I just lay there listening to his breathing tracing small patterns on his chest just to forget the dream. Its not until hours later that I finally fall asleep.

The dream haunts my thoughts everyday but I push them aside just focusing my attention on Arthur. We managed to sneak out of his duties telling his father that he needed to go on a small hunting trip. He caught a few rabbits and now he has me pressed up against a tree kissing me. I laughed when he moved his soft kisses to my neck. I tangle my fingers in his hair just putting every thing into this. Arthur is the only thing I think.
"You won't leave me, right?" I whisper to him as he pulls away about to kiss me instead he rests his forehead on mine.
"Never you will always be mine. When I'm king nothing will stop us." He answers kissing my nose. I laugh leaning my head back against the tree looking up at the sky. I look back down at him kissing him for a long time then pulling back.
"I love you so much Arthur." He just smiles kissing me again. We spend almost all day in the forest away from the responsibility of our lives just being with each other.
In the blink of an eye

The truth is you never know
Just seeing Arthur on the ground my heart dropped that dream coming to my mind. I run towards him turning him on his back be groans blinking open his eyes. I can't help but laugh leaning down kissing him six times before letting him sit up.
"I'm fine Merlin just a bump on the head." He laughed resting his hand on my arm. I just shake my head breaking down into tears. "Merlin?"
"I just can't lose you Arthur. I'm so scared that one day I will!" I can't hold back my tongue but Arthur doesn't say anything just pulls me into his arms kissing my cheek. He keeps up there until my crying has stopped and the sun is beginning to go down. Without a word he stands up dragging me with him. We return to Camelot not a word has been said. He finally takes to me in his chambers when we are both in his bed tangled together.
"I will do everything in my power to stay with you. I will always be yours Merlin even in death." He kisses my cheek jaw then lips softly. "We will be together for as long as possible. I promise you this Merlin."
"I trust you." I whisper pressing myself as close as I can to Arthur just closing my eyes falling asleep seconds later.
So I'll kiss you longer baby

I'll make the most of the minutes
And love with no regrets
I kiss Arthur's forehead for one last time pushing the boat away from the shore. He was all I could ask for perfect in every way. I wouldn't trade anything for what we had. I loved him more than anything in this world but the pain in my chest hurt more than anyway. Watching as he drifted farther away from me I wouldn't be able to reach him. I still smiled though remembering our every moment together. I moved back out of the water just sitting down watching it drift away.
"You'll always be mine Arthur." I smiled just staying in that spot for hours. Finally when the sun is coming back up I stand up taking one last look. "Always my king."
