~10 years ago (the day J left)~ (why Alyssa cried when she had to choose)

Alyssas POV

I sat in my bedroom, listening to my parents fight. "YOU CAN'T JUST DO THAT!" My mother screamed. "IF MY PRIDE AND JOY WANTS TO GO TO SCHOOL IN JAPAN, I'M GOING TO LET HIM!!!" My father screamed back. "YOU DIDN'T EVEN ASK ME!! HE'S MY SON TOO!" She began to cry and I began to rock back and forth, looking at my toes. As I was listening to my mother cry, I heard my door slowly open and shut. "Hey....." it was J. "Hi..." I said. "So.... your really gonna go?" I said, tears stinging my eyes. "Ya, I think that my studies will be better if I went to Japan. It'll help me learn more about other countries." He tried to sooth me. Then, my mom and dad rushed into the room. "Kids..." my mom said crying. "We have to tell you something......." silence. "Mommy and daddy are getting.... a-a.... a divorce...." J just nodded. "I knew this would happen." He said. He always knew everything. "So... Alyssa, sweetie.... your gonna have to choose who you want to live with...." she tried to say calmly. "I-I...uh....I...." neither.... was all I could think. " I-Uh.... I want t-to live w-with J...." I answered honestly. "No." My father looked at me sternly. "Me or your mother. Pick.one." He began to raise his voice. "What does it matter? J is the only one who's ever done anything for me. All you guys do is yell and scream at each other." They both formed a look on their face that I will never forget. Then, they took me hard by the hand and drug me into the bathroom. The scars will never heal.

~7 years ago~(why she's afraid of heights)

Alyssas POV

I stood on the roof, ready to jump. I took the note that read "happy now?" And stuck it in my pocket. This was the moment. The moment I would finally be able to die. I smiled. Finally, this was it. There were 3 steps between me, and the edge. 1 step. 2 steps. I stopped. A long black limo pulled into the driveway. The side read 'Star Inc.'. Must be my mother... let's see how proud she'll be when I jump. I moved my foot forward as the person got out of the car, but I stopped immediately. "J....?!" I cried. "Alyssa?!?! What are you doing?! Get down! You'll hurt yourself!!" I began to smile as I cried. I turned around to vet off the roof, bug was stopped my my mother. She was miserable. "Just do it already!!" She screamed as she pushed me back. "Ah-ah" I tried to balance myself, but failed. I fell back first onto the ground, and the last thing j remember from the day is J holding my hand and repeating "It'll be ok, don't worry..."
