Recap:
Floyd stared at her, his gaze trying to match an old face that he'd never forget to a girl grown up. All color drained from his face.

"Elise."
---------------------------

Floyd blinked. "Elise," he whispered and took a step forward. Elise seemed to lean towards him, but she didn't move a step forward. Suddenly, the walls of Floyd's small bedroom seemed to be closing in. The air was suffocating with suspense as Floyd took a step forward, only to take one back.

Floyd grimaced, his face contorting into one of pain.

"You--" he spoke, choking for words, "It can't be. You can't be." His jaw squared and his eyes emptied of sadness, turning into hatred. Floyd's eyes burned in a way that would put Thomas's fire to shame.

This time, he took a large stride forward and pointed an angry finger at the three of them, targeting Elise in general.

"This isn't funny," he seethed through gritted teeth.

Emily wanted to object, but nothing came to her. What could they say? Elise just stood there, fat tears silently falling down her face. A ghost of hope escaped from her face.

Floyd's anger didn't waver.

"I'm not putting up with your act. You can't come around here talking about my sister!" he spit, "I-I-I'll never see Elise again." Floyd put his head in his hands, a stray tear racing its way down his cheek.

Floyd pulled his head out of his hands, his face flushed,"Get out!" Floyd roared indignantly, heat rising to his face.

"Get out!" He repeated, pointing a finger towards his bedroom door. Murder screamed in his eyes.

Elise fell to the floor on both knees. Emily thought that she would sob at her brother's feet, but instead, Elise's tears remained silent, dripping down her face steadily.

Floyd was about to say something, undoubtedly another variation of 'get out', but Elise lunged forward. She latched onto Floyd's ankle, her other hand basking in the sunlight let in from the small window in Floyd's room. Her figure looked so small, so helpless, that Floyd paused for a second. Emily heard Elise whisper to her brother, "Remember," and Floyd and Elise disappeared in a flash of light. Emily's stomach dropped.

"What!?" Thomas ran to the spot where the two used to be.

"She took him somewhere, with--," Emily gulped, "--her powers." Emily still had trouble accepting her own powers, let alone the powers of three other kids. Emily looked up, struggling to form her words in a positive way.

"I'm sure they'll come back," she reassured, making her way over to Thomas, who was dumbly searching behind the bedroom furniture to see if the were just maybe there.

"You're sure?" Thomas asked incredulously, "How can you be sure? We have to make it with all of them before New Year's, when the A.I. is planning to...to..."

Emily's eyes narrowed to slits, "What?" Thomas looked down. "Why haven't you been telling me this? What're they doing?" Emily grabbed his wrist and spun Thomas around.

"If we're doing this together, you might as well act like it." Emily glared at him, "What? You can tell me."

Thomas began shakily, making his way over to the bedpost, "Maybe I haven't been giving you the full picture."

"Tell me about it."

He sat down on the edge of Floyd's bed and his fingers drummed nervously. "The A.I. stands for Automaton Incorporated. They make, er, big, life-sized robots."
