Nicks POV
I saw her walk out of her classroom across the hall. She looked into the classroom I was in and saw me. We made eye contact and she seemed happy then her smile dropped, she bit her lip and walked away. Quickly, I raised my hand.
"Can I go to the bathroom?"
"Take the pass" I ran out the door and down the hall. I was behind her when I saw her wipe a tear and heard her sniffle. She turned the corner and a couple seconds later I did too only to see her hugging someone else. They started to walk, coming my way. They passed me and she looked at me with her green eyes, filled with sorrow, then turned to him and laughed as they walked down the hall hand in hand. I saw them kiss before they went back to their class. I decided I should go back to class after I got a drink. I couldn't focus. All I could think about was her. She filled every inch of my mind. I looked out the door and saw her in her class, she was reciting square numbers with that goofy little smile on her face. She began to write on her paper. I could tell it wasn't math, but she was doodling. Her friend picked it up, and when she looked at the back I saw what was on the front. It was our initials in a heart. She saw me looking and snatched the paper. Her head was down then I texted her.
Nick- *You ok?* I didn't know how else to approach the situation.
Kim- *Yea I'm fine, I've gotta get back to class tho*
I looked over and saw her writing a problem down from her book. She looked up, then back down and it looked like she finished. I was about to text her when "he" went over to her and they were talking. He got really close to her and was working on the math problem. I couldn't take it anymore.
"Can I go check in with a teacher?" I raised my hand and asked.
"Yes go ahead" I went to her classroom and started talking with the teacher and he said I could stay. He had an odd amount of people in the class and was assigning partner projects. I knew Kim would be the one alone because she's the smartest person in the school. Mr. Smith said I could work with her and just help if she needed anything but since it was her projects to let her do it. He wrote the partner names on the board and everyone split up into their pairs. She went to the corner and pulled out her laptop to begin working on the project. I went over to her and I guess she didn't realize I came in because she was shocked to see me in here.
"What are you doing here Nick?"
"I'm your partner."
"No I always work alone."
"Well smithy said I could help you if you need it"
"Well I don't so you can go back to class"
"That was rude"
"Who cares"
"Wow you're not the girl I remember. What happened?"
"You happened."
The bell rang and she left me sitting there, dumbfounded and at a loss for words.
We had English together at the end of the day. My assigned seat was next to her because of our last names.
"We need to talk"
"Nick we don't need to talk. We went off on each other, we ended our thing, it's cool, move on"
"I don't want to"
"Class is starting" She turned to he teacher. I dozed a little in class and then I heard Romeo and Juliet Partners.
"Class you will be performing with the person next to you."
Well their were to people next to me. One guy named Andrew and Kim. Kim had a girl on her other side so that meant that we were partners. And Romeo and Juliet has a kissing scene.
"Class you will have 2 nights to memorize an assigned scene from the play and present it to the class."
She rolled her eyes.
"Come over after school?"
"If I have to." She did not want to do this. Little did she know that our scene was the kissing scene.
Later at Nicks house
"WE GOT THE KISSING SCENE!!!????"
"Yea chill we can stage kiss" I don't want to stage kiss, I want to kiss her. Uhhhh.
"Oh ok well let's get started"
We ran over the script a couple of times and then started adding in theatrics and emotions and movement. We got up to the kiss. I don't know if this was just in the moment. But she looked in my eyes how she used to before, leaned up and I leaned down and we kissed. The kiss was amazing and she didn't pull away. I knew she still loved me.
"What just happened?" She asked confused.
"I just got you back."
