the mockingjays daughter

I'm exhausted.I'm so tired but all I want to do is see her.I need to see her.I want to see my daughter.I hear her cries beside me.High pitched baby cries.Peeta is beside me clutching my hand and whispering sweet nothing's to me.I'm in pain but I just want my daughter in my arms.My mom is here,she came to help me with the last month of my pregnancy.She's cleaning my daughter up and taking care of her, that's the only reason I'm not freaking out.all of a sudden I hear a nurse yell out

"6 pounds 3 ounces!"I smile and look over to where i heard the voice.I see my baby girls little feet.So small and precious.Peeta finally convinced me to have a baby. He was ecstatic.I was still worried that she would be taken away from me, but now that she's here all I can think about is how much I already love her.I look at peeta and he's looking at our daughter too.it seems only seconds ago I was at home with peeta but it was actually hours

I'm in my room when peeta comes in.He kneels down and rubs my swollen stomach.

"Come on baby girl.come on out.Me and your mommy can't wait to meet you.We both love you so much"My eyes fill with tears at my husband talking to our unborn child.Stupid hormones.He stands up and tells me dinners done and that I should come down before it gets cold.My moms next door taking care of haymitch.He got bit by a goose and it looked kinda bad so i sent my mom over there.He completely gave up drinking because I'm pregnant and he said he wants to be a good role model.I start to go downstairs but a strong painful jolt shoots my through stomach.I clutch my stomach in pain and when the pain stops I pass it off as Braxton kicks.Which are fake contractions and I've had them before.I go and sit down and eat dinner with peeta.We start eating but l feel the same pain and clutch my stomach.Peeta notices this time.

"Kat? Honey you Ok?"Just then i feel something drip down my legs.I freeze.Oh no.Peeta comes over to me and sees what the problem is.he starts freaking out and then when he calms down he calls my mom.Mom is over here quicker than you can count to 3.Peeta is running upstairs getting the things for the hospital and my mom is talking to me to keep me calm.soon we are on our way to the hospital to have my new daughter.

Peeta is still next to me and he has tears in his eyes.My mom comes over with a little pink bundle.I sit up in my bed and hold out my tired arms toward my daughter.My mom softly lays her in my arms.My eyes instantly fill with tears at the site of my daughter.She has my thick brown and chubby little cheeks.I softly touch her little button nose and smile at her.her little hand is peeking out of the bundle of blankets so I touch her palm softly and her fingers instantly grip my finger.I look at peeta and he is staring at her in awe.I don't know when but my mom left leaving us alone.When I look back down I see my daughters bright blue eyes.

"Lily Kate Mellark"I simply state "Hear take her"I say cuz I know he wants to hold her really bad.he takes her and walks around.He holds her close to his face and says"I'm your daddy.I'm so happy your here.I love you so much lily." I fall asleep at the sight of my husband and daughter.When wake up I see peeta next to me

"Hey.Good morning darling."he says.

"morning"I say but then my mom comes in

"Hey, look mommy's up!"I smile at my new name.mommy."I think this little one is hungry."Says mom.When was 6 months pregnant my mom talked me into breast feeding.I sit up and sigh, mom hands me Lily.I pull my hospital dress down to reveal my breast.My mom shows me tips on how to hold her.When she finally starts to eat I smile and look at peeta.He is watching me in amazement.I look back down and she looks so content and happy.My mom leaves my side to go talk to peeta.When she starts to fuss I decide she's full so I hand her to peeta and then fix myself.I lean back and something on my moms waist buzzes and then she goes to see what she is needed for.Peeta gives Lily back to me and kisses me.

"Your such a good mother."

"Your a better farther."I say he smiles and then my mom comes back in and asks if I feel good enough to have visitors.I tell her yes and then haymitch walks in with a pink stuffed bunny.I smile and wave him over.He walks over and sets the stuffed animal on my bed and I hand him Lily.She wiggles a little at the movement but doesn't cry.He looks at her and I think I see a single tear slide down his face.

Today I get to take Lily home.Peeta ran home to get her carseat and I'm here putting her in a pink onesie that says "Daddy's girl" on the chest with a cupcake next to it, some pink sweats,a little pink hat, and little white socks.She looks adorable.just as I'm putting her socks on peeta comes in with the carseat.I pick Lily up and put her in the seat carefully and set the pink bunny next to her.I look at peeta

"I love you so much, Peeta"

"I love you too, Kat"
