"Sky! sKY! SKYLAR CALM DOWN ITS ME" i stopped kicking and looked at the intruder
"Jason?"
"Whats shakin bacon?" he asked as if i wasnt just kicking the life out of him.
"what? what the FUCK IS YOUR PROBLEM?? firing guns outside, scaring me AND your girlfriend and then barging in like you own the place?!" i yelled at him, furious but secretly relived we werent alone anymore.
"Jason?" i heard autumn come down the stairs and then squeal when she saw him. i was trying to get up out of the claustrophobic closet when another figure blocked the doorway.
"hey sweet cheeks" ryan said with the annoying yet adorable smirk he always does.

"you just gonna stand there all day or are you gonna help me up?" i asked and he extended his hand for mine.
"what are yall doing here anyways?" autumn asked huddled under Jasons arm as i put the knife back into the drawer.
"well air head over here has been going on and on about skylar and once we saw the news man, ya know the one with the sweaty armpits, get attacked by the news anchor lady, mr. heroic thought you ladies would need some protection." he said and smiled at autumn. autumn smiled back and nuzzled her head into his chest and wrapped her arms around his waste.
"we were perfectly fine. until you started firing guns and knockin down doors." i said back
"firing guns? that wasnt us baby cakes, the best we got is a pocket knife." ryan said as he walked over and threw his arm around my shoulder.
"dont call me that" i said and shrugged his arm off my shoulder.
"then who was it?" autumn asked
"and whats going on out there?" i asked.
the boys were quiet for a minute until jason answered.
"its a mad house out there. people attacking people, shooting each other..." he paused "eating each other."
"eating each other??" autumn asked as she held back a sob and squeezed jason tighter then she already was.
"so youre meaning to tell me its a damn zombie apocalypse outside??!" i asked, anxiety reaching a new level.
"afraid so." ryan said and he put his arm around me again, in a hugging way. even though he's a cheating bastard, i accepted it. i buried my face into his chest and he wrapped his arms around me, i remember how it felt to get these hugs everyday, and his kisses...
I pulled away and went into the living room. i tried all the channels but all i could find was emergency broadcasting with that annoying siren thing.
"we need to go somewhere right? this cant be safe just sitting around." i half asked and half talking to myself trying to wrap my mind around what was going on.
"probably, why dont you guys get a bag packed and we can head to my parents house in Guthrie." ryan suggested. i nodded my head and started to go upstairs behind autumn and jason.
"yall know we ran here?" jason said trying to show off.
"oh wow, baby youre so courageous." autumn swooned. i rolled my eyes and went into my room. i was shortly followed by a lost looking puppy.
"what now?" i asked while i went to my closet and grabbed a couple of t shirts and a hoodie. it may be july but i get cold easily.
"oh nothing- you havent changed a bit ya know, same attitude, same smile, same face when youre upset.. same hugs."
i stopped for a few seconds and then went to my dresser.
"it was only last month." i said coldly. just thinking about it puts me in a mood.
"babe, it was a mistake." he said
"im not your babe, you lost the privilege to call me that after i walked in on you and candice."
"it was a mistake" he whined and walked over to me. i finished putting a couple pairs of socks and underwear in the bag and went to get some pants and shorts.
"common skyyyy, dont ignore me we can work through this."
begging now, cute.
"skylar i promise just give me another chance it wont happen again."
"youre right," i said, " it wont happen again because i wont let you make a fool out of me again."
i walked into the bathroom to grab my toothbrush and some toothpaste. i grabbed some mascara for autumn and a razor. i walked back in my room to see him laying on my bed. i rolled my eyes and opened the drawer to my nightstand and grabbed the picket knife. i grabbed a pair of shorts and am extra hoodie and went to the bathroom to change.
"hey lets go downstairs and chat real quick." i heard jason whisper to ryan and listened to them walk down the stairs. once i knew i was out of sight i came out of the bathroom and went into autumns room.
"hey ja-"

i whispered to her. i nodded my head toward the stairs and grabbed her wrist. we crept down the stairs and pressed our bodies against the wall to listen.
"i cant lie to my girlfriend." jason replied to whatever ryan had said.
"you only have to for a little while longer, only until we get them to the house."
"what if she asks questions?"
"we've been through this" ryan said, " we just avoid the questions until we get to the house."
autumn looked at me, fear written on her face. i nodded my head back upstairs.
"grab your bag." i whispered and went to grab mine.
i went to her room, she looked so scared and tired.
"i just wanted to watch a movie." she said.
"i know sweety. lets go."
she nodded her head reluctantly and we tiptoed down the stairs. they were in the kitchen so we slid across the wall to the front door. autumn grabbed the keys.

autumn found the car keys and had it ready

we threw open the door and sprinted to the car. autumn got into the passenger side and i ran around the small jeep onto the drivers side and hopped in. she reached over a turned the ignition on.
"why didnt you get in the drivers side? you had the keys." i asked as i locked the doors and threw our stuff in the back. she was about to answer before she was interrupted by ryan and jason running outside yelling at us to stop. i put the car in gear and backed up. as i was about to go forward, Mr.Watson a couple doors down pounced on jason and bit into his neck.
autumn screamed and i choked on a sob. i pressed on the gas pedal and drove off. focusing on the road and trying to ignore the cries of a heartbroken girl in the passenger seat.
