Chapter One-

Personally, I thought this day could NOT get any worse.

Currently,  I stood in front of my locker, five pounds of pudding splattered all along the front of my clothes. Chocolate pudding. The bowl sat motionless, overturned, to the side where it fell when I opened my locker. The sound of giggles and stopped footsteps surrounded me, making my cheeks heat into flames as I cracked my knuckles and turned.

Theresa Jenkins stood in her cheerleading outfit, her posse right behind her. A small crowd had started to form around us. Shit.

"Hey, Thrift Shop," she said, her mouth hidden behind her hand. "You've messed up your already crappy clothes."

Pause. Just to start off, I'm pretty used to being taunted. After all, my mom is single, she's a store manager, and we live in an affordable house- meaning ghetto, rundown, and far away from stores and restaurants. My school knew it and we're not so keen to soften the blow of my poor circumstance.
