Us against the world...

"Monday"

A/N: sorry I haven't update much. Still struggling with the world against us and it's hard to focus on sonadow when something new came into our lives and made me change it all. I hope you will all enjoy

Monday had finally arrived and already was Shadow annoyed with the blue hedgehog. He was always sitting in the chair next to his hospital bed and did barley anything. He mostly would watch the TV when Sonic was asleep. Right now he's watching COPS, which is not his most favorite.
Sonic remain asleep feeling so peaceful. Once he woke up, he saw the black hedgehog next to him looking bored out of his mind. He smiled as he secretly was strong at him without Shadow knowing. He could stare at him all day. He took a peek at Shadow's arm and saw the muscles a bit strong. He imagine how strong Shadow could feel and how he would like to feel those arms. He blushed imagining it all.
"Excuse me?" The nurse came in getting Shadow's attention.
Sonic immediately closed his eyes pretending to be asleep.
"Yes?" He said.
"Could you please wake Sonic up so we can give him a bath? He needs it so he can get a bit healthier."
Sonic did not like that sound of that. He began to worry real bad.
"What about his broken arm?" Shadow asked.
"He'll be fine if he doesn't move it so much."
"Well alright." Once the nurse left him alone, Shadow began to try and wake him up. He shook him a little. "Hey faker. Wake up."
Sonic made a fake moan to make sure he doesn't get caught to be awake. He did not want to get into that bath.
Shadow was getting a bit impatient. "Come on you moron. Up now."
Sonic certainly wasn't certainly gonna lose this. He refuses. "Go away mom." He faked another moan.
Shadow could tell this was not gonna be easy. He felt he was gonna have to do this the hard way. "Fine." He stood on his feet and put his arms under Sonic. Next thing, Shadow is lifting Sonic and carries him into the room where his bath was.
Sonic still pretend to be asleep but didn't know what was Shadow doing. He open one of his eyes and realized he was being taken to the bath. "Aah!"
SPLASH!
Already Sonic was in his bath and he was not happy about it. He was blushing mad and looked very unhappy. He glared at Shadow. "Really?!"
"I knew you were faking to be asleep you goof." Shadow said. Seemed he was pretty smart when it comes to Sonic lying.
"Excuse me, mr. Shadow?" The nurse called for him.
He sighed annoyed and turn his head. "Yes?"
"Would you mind giving him the bath? I have an emergency patient I need to help. Thank you!" She then ran out of the room.
Shaped was gonna refuse but she was already gone. Now he doesn't have much of a choice. He look back at Sonic and saw the anger in his eyes and embarrassment he was in. He then bursted out laughing.
Sonic only glared even more. "What's so funny?"
"You look ridiculous." He laughed.
Sonic only blushed embarrassed. Now he wanted to just kill Shadow.
"Oh come on. The water is not that bad."
"Yes it is!" He said. "The soap burns a bit and this is just embarrassing."
"Stop being such a baby." He said as he grabbed a hand towel and then grabbed Sonic's arm.
"W-What are you doing?" He asked.
"What does it look like I'm doing? I'm giving you a bath. Now hold still." Then he started to rub Sonic's arm that wasn't broken.
Sonic blushed as he felt a but embarrassed by how Shadow was holding him back. He didn't want to fight with him if he's being washed like this. It actually felt nice. The strong muscles Shadow had were amazing to him.
Shadow began to realize that Sonic wasn't trying to fight this bath with him. He stopped rubbing once he realized that.
Sonic looked at him puzzled. "What's wrong?"
"Why aren't you fighting with me?"
"What do you mean?"
"Like you're not trying to pull your arm away from me or trying to get out of the bath."
Sonic wished he hadn't realized it at all and hope he'll come up with a good excuse before Shadow finds out. "Because..." He had to think and had an idea. He had a smirk on his face and put his arm in the water. "I wanted to keep your guard down so I can do this!" He then splash some water onto Shadow making him fall backwards.
Shadow was not happy. He growled and then stood back up seeing the blue hedgehog laughing in the bath. "Oh, you think that's funny huh?"
"Yes! Definitely!" Sonic did his final laughed. When he stopped, he saw Shadow didn't look happy. "Um..."
"Well guess it's time to show you what happens when you mess with the ultimate life form!" Shadow reached down Sonic's sides as began tickling while he was still in the bath.
Sonic bursted out laughing and splashed a whole lot in the bath making a big mess. Shadow only tickled harder on Sonic's sides, enjoying to the fact that he was showing to be tough. Sonic wasn't gonna lose though. He used his non-broken arm and grabbed one of Shadow's. By then he used all his might to pull Shadow into the bath with him.
Most of the bath water was spilled onto the floor and Shadow found himself completely wet. He growled and was about to hit the blue hedgehog with a rising fist. "Why you little-!" But then he realized something odd about him. He wasn't blue. He was blushing deep red. Redder than a wild rose.
Sonic was only staring up at him with this expression. This was very unusual to Shadow.
"Why are you so red?" He asked. "Are you really that sick?"
"S-S-Shadow..." Sonic stuttered. "Y-Y-Your h-hand...."
Shadow still looked a bit puzzled. What about his hands?
"It's in my..." Sonic just couldn't say it by how red he was.
Shadow then looked down at his hand. His left hand was smashing Sonic's hand and his right was...
Now Shadow was the one with the red face. His own hand was touching a very inappropriate place of Sonic the Hedgehog and what's worse was that he was above him in the bath nude.
Shadow immediately pulled both his hands away and got out of the bath slipping on his butt. It hurt but he didn't care. He only stared at him and felt his heart race. His face was so hot, it felt as if the world was ending only on his face.
"Well...." He didn't know what to say.
Neither did Sonic.
Shadow then got up from the slippery floor, grabbed a towel, and toss it to Sonic as he remain in the bath. Sonic only stared at him, surprise he didn't get a best up it anything.
"You're done with your bath faker." Shadow said trying to look away. "You can dry yourself off." Then he left to sit back down in his usual chair.
Sonic only looked down at his reflection in the water. He could tell his face was a big give away but that was mostly Shadow's fault. "I need to be careful before he finds out."

A few hours later...

The morning had pass to an afternoon that was sunny and pretty. Sonic remain in his hospital bed but was awake. He was trying to play his game of Nintendo. Mostly a Mario game. Shadow, on the other hand, was watching TV again.
Sonic was close to beating a high score but using one hand was a handful. "Oh come on!" He said to his device.
Shadow only looked at him by how silly he was looking. Using one arm isn't gonna help him. Shadow did his best to blank the fact that he touched Sonic. Most awkward position he's ever been. He decided not to let it get to him. "Do you really think using one arm is gonna help you?" He said.
"Maybe." Sonic said not looking away.
It kinda bother Shadow a bit. "You need both hands you moron. Just put the game down and play until both of your arms are better."
"No way. If I do that, then I won't remember I was playing and will lose the high score. Besides, what else is there to do in bed?" Still the blue hedgehog did not look at him and continued to play.
Shadow wasn't a bit sure why this bother him but he wasn't gonna get ignore by eye contact. He snatch Sonic's Nintendo away from him.
"Hey!"
"It's called sleeping is what you do, or watch TV." Shadow said putting it away.
"Come on Shadow! I was gonna beat into the final boss against Bowser."
"You'll live. It's just a silly game."
Sonic only glared at Shadow and crossed his non broken arm to make a pouty face.
Shadow looked towards him and wanted to laugh. "Quit moping faker."
"I'm not moping." He said in a small kid voice.
Shadow only rolled his eyes. But he couldn't stop looking at the blue hedgehog. Something made him not want to stop. He started to imagine Sonic as a little kid. So childish, wild, crazy, silly cute....
That just made Shadow blank. Why cute? That's never gone past his head about Sonic.
"Can we at least put something cool on?" Sonic asked not having a moping look.
"Well what exactly do you want to put on?" He asked.
"Umm...I don't know. I guess a racing game."
He knew it had something to do with racing. He then decided to turn it on so the blue hedgehog would be silent.
Sonic and Shadow watched throughout the entire show was turned off. It last for about three hours. Shadow kept staring at the TV super bored. He didn't get it with Sonic's taste in TV. "How does the faker handle this?" He turned his head to him.
He wasn't really expected with what Sonic was doing. He was asleep. Shadow had no idea he was out if it. He only sighed. "No wonder. He gets bored with the TV."
Shadow was considering on going to the cafeteria to get some lunch, but then he heard the softest sound that was louder than the TV. He looked around and saw it was nothing but the blue hedgehog moving his blanket off him a lot. He had fear on his face as his eyes were still closed. He kept kicking the blanket off with his feet but doesn't realize it's home doing it. He shivered so much, his teeth were chattering as the sound of music was being made. Expect this doesn't sound like it.
Shadow only watched him shiver and couldn't help but feel a bit bad. He must be that cold. The air conditioner was a bit good in the room. He smiled and decided to be nice just this once to him.
He then turns off the television and walked over to Sonic's hospital bed and grabbed the covers that remain close to his feet. Then he pulled them over Sonic and wrapped him making him feel warmer. Sonic then had a small smile on his face and was super cozy in his head.
Shadow couldn't help but believe that smile Sonic owned was adorable. He kinda wonder why he was thinking this way. Maybe everyone thinks the same way? Seems he'll never know. "Goodnight faker." Then he left the hospital room to leave the blue hedgehog alone. He was feeling good to see Sonic smile in his sleep.
Sonic was sleeping in his own mind. But the warmth from the blanket was so comfy, he only hope the one person he wanted most had done this.
"Thanks... Shadow..."

A/N: honestly I wish I could skip to the part they start liking each other but like I said, blooming is more fun than rushing. Anyways I hope you all enjoyed this chapter and will be ready for the next one.
