"Where in the heck is my ring?" Shadow asked himself digging through another pile of his dirty laundry. "I know it should be in my jeans I wore the other day."
Seems again, Shadow lost one of his inhibiter rings again. He never likes to go out in public without them. They make him feel powerless. Even the ultimate life form can lose important things. He always checks his clothes first. After that, he's thinking about checking the kitchen where the drawers are.
"Ugh! Of course. Nothing. The last time it got lost it was because..." Then he trailed off. He had an idea where his ring could be.
"...Sonic."

At the home of Sonic the Hedgehog...

"Thanks man." Sonic said to the delivery man. He then closed the door and walked into the kitchen humming a happy tune. He certainly loved his chili dogs.
Today seemed it was gonna be a good day for the happy blue hedgehog. What wouldn't make it any better?
He place the box on the table and revealed warm delicious chili dogs. The smell was lifted into the air and want straight into Sonic's nose. He could taste those dogs already and he hasn't even eaten them.
He grabbed one and began to open his mouth for a good feeding for himself. But then the sound of knocking came to his door interrupting his moment.
KNOCK KNOCK!
"Ugh! You got to be pulling on my leg!" He whined.
He then put a paper towel under his chili dog and walked to his front door. He twisted the knob and was pretty surprise to see the visitor. A smile was spread across his face and he said "Hey Sha-"
"Give me my ring Sonic." Shadow demanded.
Sonic looked at him a bit puzzled. "Your ring?"
"Yes. You have my ring. Now bring it back."
"What makes you think that I have it?"
"You had it last time!"
"No I didn't!"
"Oh really?" Shadow could perfectly remember the last time Sonic had his ring.

(A few weeks ago...)

"Where the heck is it?!" Shadow shouted to the world in his front yard. He seemed pretty annoyed when he lost his ring back then.
Just then, a running certain blue hedgehog was passing by and but stopped right in front of Shadow. Sonic smiled at him as he saw the black hedgehog look pretty mad. "Hey Shadow!"
"Not now faker." He said sounding angry.
"Whoa, no need to be so grumpy." He joked.
"I'm not grumpy."
"You're grumpy Mcgrumble stink."
Shadow only growled at the blue hedgehog at how he is always so cheerful and so annoying. Why was he always around?
"You lose something Shad?" Sonic asked.
Shadow sighed, as he know he will never go away. He stood on his feet and said "Yes. I lost my power ring and now I'm about to go nuts until I find it."
"It's just a ring silly."
"Idiot! It's my power ring! A way to freaking beat your butt!"
Sonic only laughed.
Shadow felt he could never understand this hedgehog. "What is so freaking funny?!"
"You really want that ring back?" Sonic asked.
"Yes! Did you not understand that?!" He was pretty mad.
By then, Sonic held put a golden ring and said with a smirk "There you go!"
Shadow was confuse and no longer look mad. He looked at the ring in Sonic's hand and recognize it. It was his ring! It was with Sonic the whole time? How did he even get it in the first place?
Shadow immediately grabbed the ring and said with no please in his words "Thanks." Then he headed straight back into his house and slammed the door shut.
Sonic only stared a bit lost but smiled seeing that Shadow felt much better to have his ring back. "There's the Shadow I know." He said.

(Back to the present...)

Sonic only had a still face. He felt kinda embarrassed. How could he not remember them? He was fast with his speed but never with his memories or so. He just stood there silent.
"Now do you remember faker?" Shadow said.
Sonic rubbed his head and gave a small smile. "Apparently, I do."
"Now give it back."
"But Shadow I don't have it this time."
"Nice try but I am not her for games."
"But I really don't have it!"
Shadow's temper got the best of him and then he pushed Sonic away from his door stand. Then he stomped inside the home and began to search.
Sonic lifted up and smirked at the strong black hedgehog. He wasn't just gonna give up that easily like Shadow thinks he is. He jumped on his feet and jumped towards Shadow to land on him. Kinda almost like an attack.
Shadow slammed his face against the floor and growled as he heard Sonic's chuckling. For a funny hedgehog, Sonic was a bit heavy. "Get off me Sonic!" He yelled.
"Make me!" Sonic smiled.
Shadow used as much strength as he could but it was hard. Maybe Sonic needs to loan down on the chili dogs. Then he finally got the strength to pushed Sonic off him once again. He ran into the kitchen and continue to search on.
"Oh no you don't Shadow!" Sonic said still wanting to play fight. He still had that smile on.
He ran after the ultimate life form but stop once he was in the kitchen. His smiled disappeared and he was a bit ticked at what Shadow had in his hand.
One of his chili dogs.
"Come on Shadow! I just got those!" He said.
"And I'll put it on the floor until you get me my ring!" Shadow said.
Sonic knew it was a silly to be getting mad over a chili dog, but if one was ruined, it just wouldn't be the same. It was hard to explain in Sonic's book.
"I told you man! I don't have it!" Sonic said almost wanting to beg.
"Fine. Watch one of your dogs fall onto the dirty floor of yours."
Shadow was about to let go of the dog and let it fall. It was the only thing Shadow could think of once he got into the house. He let his fingers slip and began to let go of the dog.
BAM!
Shadow's stomach hurt and he fell on his back and was being rolled into a blue and black ball. Seemed Sonic pushed him back and made him spin around along by accident.
Once the two hedgehogs stopped their spinning ball, they both felt many bruises on each other. They open their eyes and found an awkward position they were in. Shadow was right above Sonic pinning him onto the ground.
They both stared at each other's eyes. Red and emerald green. Sonic could feel his heart beating fast. He assumed that it was excuse of the running he had to do. Shadow wasn't sure what he was gonna do. He just stared down at the blue hedgehog. He found his hand locked against Sonic's hand. He didn't let go, which was unlike of Shadow.
"Um Shadow?" Sonic broke the silence of them two. He had a blushing face but it wasn't noticeable.
"Yes?" Shadow respond.
"Can you please get off me? You're really heavy."
Shadow never thought he be that heavy. So he decided to stand back into his two feet and help Sonic to stand on his.
Once Sonic was up, he smiled at Shadow and said "Well at least-" Sonic tried to pull his hand away from Shadow's, but he won't let go. "Um Shadow?"
"Where is my ring?" He said.
Sonic laughed. "Dude I told you. I don't-"
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
"Who is that?" Shadow asked him.
"How should I know?" Sonic finally got the chance to pull away from Shadow and walk to his front door.
Shadow followed the blue hedgehog and watched him open the door to greet the hot-head echidna.
"Hey Knuckles." Sonic said with a smile.
"Hey Sonic. I don't got much time but I have no idea where Shadow lives. Will you give this back to him for me?"
Knuckles pulled it out of his back pocket and revealed a golden inhibiter ring. Sonic was a bit surprise to see that Knuckles had it. "Uh sure. Thanks."
"No thank you. I can't face Shadow of he found out I accidentally got his ring. Now I need to get back to the Master Emerald. I'll see you later." Then the echidna began to run down the street.
Sonic only closed the door slowly and looked down at the ring. He turned around facing Shadow and revealed the ring in his hand. "I guess Knuckles had it."
Shadow was just silent. He only looked at the blue hedgehog and his ring. Now he just looked like an idiot. He stomped to Sonic and grabbed the ring out of his hand. "Thanks." Then he walked past Sonic leaving his home.
"Uh... Your welcome?" Sonic only stood a bit puzzled.
"And uh, Sonic?"
Sonic turned his head as he saw Shadow outside of his house. Shadow had a small smile and said "I'm sorry."
"It's cool. I can't blame you." Sonic smiled giving him a thumbs up.
Shadow then walked off to his home again, glad to have his ring back. Now he doesn't have to feel as powerless as he thought he could feel.
Sonic had a warm smile on him as he closed the door. It's good to see Shadow smile at times instead of always a frown.
He walked back into the kitchen but looked up at the wall of a photo of him, Shadow, Amy, and Silver. Amy, of course, was hugging Sonic to death with love, Silver was just smiling as he loved this timeline more than the future, and Shadow just looked annoyed. No matter how many times Shadow was never happy, Sonic was glad to see him almost every single day. He's the only reason he's still alive.
He looked down at his table but saw the chili dog that Shadow was holding on the floor. Sonic looked annoyed and facepalm himself. "So much for a good meal. Now I gotta clean it up."
Then he began to clean up.
