Sam's POV
Friday September 1, 2015It was getting late and Eric hasn't showed up since he left. Mom was taking a nap from all the working. While I was just sitting here, doing nothing right now.
Just sitting on the couch watching some college football. I've got nothing better to do at the moment. Today was a good day and a good birthday. I didn't get to spend it with Eric, but I was with my mother.
I couldn't have asked for more. Today was something I can't complain about. I shouldn't be anyway. I went to the porch, watching the sunset. The warm breeze hit my face. I fixed my hat as the air continued to hit my face.
A few minutes passed as I was still admiring the sunset. Man can this moment last forever?
"Beautiful view isn't it..?" I turned around to see Chandler. What the hell was he doing here?
" Sure is delightful... Not to be rude in any way but, what're you doin' here?" I asked.
" I thought I might as well spend the last few hours with you. Also remember Sam I live right around the block. Walking distance." He said spinning me around facing him.
" Mind if I wear your hat?" Chandler said taking it and putting it on his fluffy head.
"Uh sure. Can we talk? Please boy be honest here alright?" I said.
" Uh yeah sure." He said sitting down.
" Please Chandler, why did you beat down Eric like that..? What is so bad about Eric that you hate him so much?" I asked calmly.
Chandler took a deep breath and a moment to speak. " Samantha look, Eric is a big douche bag. He likes to play around with girls feelings just to use them for an affair. He had a girlfriend before you and she was sexually abused by him. Eric is well known for his sexuality and stuff like that. Its all he ever thinks about. When he said he was supposedly gonna get you in the bed tonight on your birthday on the day of the dispute, he made it way too obvious that he is using you. Thats because nobody says that kind of crap out loud. Yeah I'm wrong in many ways and I overreacted that day. It's just... I'm worked up on that and you know. It makes me kind of nervous when you're alone around him. My brotherly bond with him was strained because you were my girlfriend during that time. It's just that... I don't want him to hurt you is all..." Chandler explained.
I stayed silent for a moment. " Yer being honest?".
" Cross my heart." He said.
" Hmph. I understand yer point and where your coming from. I appreciate you tryin to protect me, I really do. I always thought that after you break up with someone, they ain't gonna give a rats ass about that person. Guess I was wrong. Thank you Chandler." I said hugging him.
"Don't mention it. Im being serious though. I need you to be careful at least. I can't see you get hurt, physically. It hurts me personally." He said hugging me back.
There was an awkward silence between us. Chandler started to lean in closer to my face, so did I. He's three inches from my lips until I pull back. Realizing what Im doing.
"Chandler, y'know I can't do this. Your hangin' with Brianna too. Remember that.".I said looking down.
"I know Im sorry. Just got caught up in the moment. You mind if I can hang with you for a while?"
"Sure I guess I really got nothing more to do. Eric hasn't even stopped by after he left." I said walking in the house, with him following.
"What were you doing before I got here?" Chandler asked.
"Just watchin some college football. You?"
"Nothing really."
I looked around the room. My eyes landed on my Xbox one. I got an idea.
"Wanna play some halo?" I asked.
"Uh yeah sure!" Chandler said as he got excited.
I got up and turned on the system. I grabbed two controllers and handed one to him. I put halo in and we began playing.
