The sound of my alarm is what wakes me up in a panic. I rub my face and attempt to rub the tiredness away. A yawn escapes my mouth but before I can fully wake up, Matt comes rushing in.

"Oh, thank god!" He protests dramatically.

"What?" I say.

" You were asleep for hours and I have no idea what to wear," he says. Oh, the pains of Matthew Cooper.

"Matthew you are so dramatic," I laugh. He looks at me seriously.

"Briar, this is serious!" he says and I roll my eyes.

" I think I'm just going to wear some jeans and a hoodie or something," I say.

"A what and what? Oh, absolutely not B we're going out!" Matt protests, he starts rummaging through my closet, letting out a few groans here and there and saying 'no' each time a hanger passes his face. I rub my face and put my hair up in a bun while Matt continues to create chaos in my closet.

"Here we go," he sighs happily. I look up and see he's pulled out a black mini-dress.

"Uh Matt," I hesitate "I don't even think that fits, that was from freshman year," I laugh.

"Try it on, don't play with me I know you've barely grown the last two years," he states. I groan and Matt exits the room. I change into the dress and of course, Matt was right, it still fit.

"Are you decent?" I hear Matt ask from behind the closed door, I laugh and open the door.

"Jesus Christ, this is what we needed!" he says with a clap. I roll my eyes and laugh. "I always forget you have a body since you dress like Adam Sandler," he says. I gasp.

"Matthew!" I yell and he gives me a shrug.

"Okay, which one?" He asks and holds up a charcoal grey shirt and a black shirt.

" I like the grey one, you're already wearing black jeans," I say.

"This is why I love you," he says. I smile and he exits my room. Matt gets into the shower and I start getting ready, I put on a true crime podcast and decide to pair some black stockings with some bedazzled jewels here and there. Then I start with my hair, curling it into big lushes curls and rolling up my curtain bangs into a velcro hair roller. Next is makeup, and since we're going out, I apply a little more makeup than usual. By the time I apply my lipgloss, Matt comes in with a knock.

"You look great B," he says. I smile and put on a dainty silver necklace, and reach into my jewelry drawer for some earrings.

"You look good too Matt," I say. I grab some black heels and go back to look for some earrings. My eyes glance over the selection and I come across some silver bee earrings Connor gifted me for my 16th birthday. I smile and take the little bee earrings and put them in.

"Ready?" I turn to Matt who's smiling at his phone, he nods and we exit my room and make our way to the front door.

"I'll drive," Matt states, and grabs my jacket to help me put it on, I let out a 'thank you' and grab my purse.

Matt opens my door for me and then gets in, setting up the GPS to the house we're going to. I slip off my heels and play some music. As Matt starts to drive I realize we're a good 35 minutes away from the party.
