Wendy:
I sat on the floor next to Alice's bed with my knees to my chest. I haven't stepped out of my room since Peter and I found her unconscious. She hasn't woken up ever since and I'm terrified. Alice is my friend, the closest thing to a sister in a long time. Alice was an orphan, which I can sympathize since I lived in an orphanage my whole life, until I ran away. I've never had a family until I came to Neverland."Wendy." I jumped at the voice, I was dozing off. My eyelids were heavy as I looked towards the source. Peter stood at the door facing me. "Wendy, please."
"What, Peter?" I said looking away from him to Alice. He sat beside me.
"You need to eat something, it's bad enough we can't get Alice to wake up. I'm not letting you starve." He pleaded. I looked into his eyes, he was worried.
"Peter." I cried. "I can't leave her, I..."
"Please." He whispered grabbing my hand. My heart raced at his touch, I wanted to kiss him. Maybe then he'd forget about me not eating. It's been three days since I put anything into my mouth. I leaned in and put my lips on him, trying to make him think of sos thing else, but he pulled away. "No. We can't kiss until you put food in your mouth."
"Ok, I just won't eat it." I joked.
"And swallow it." He said rolling his eyes.
"Oh, you're being ridiculous. Just kiss me." I said leaning in, inches from his face. I knew he wanted to kiss me, but he resisted the temptation and stood up. "Ugh."
He picked me up bridal style and then one second we were in the room, the next we were standing in front of the fire in the boys' tent area.
"Peter!" I yelled as he set me down on my feet. "I can't leave her alone, I-I can't, please." I started crying and I knew I was making a scene in front of all the boys but I just put my face in his chest and sobbed.
"Benny, Grayson. Go to the girls room and watch over Alice." I heard Peter say as his chest vibrated. Then his voice came to a gnarled whisper. "If you pull anything I'll p feed you to the mermaids. Everyone go."
My breathing settled as soon as they finally left.
"I'm sorry." I said in his chest. Then I looked up at him and wiped my eyes, laughing at how embarrassing I am.
"Can you just eat something so I can kiss you." He sighed, then he smiled. I tried to calm down even though my friend hasn't woken up in three days. I rolled my eyes and he led me to his tent where he already had food. I sat on his bed while he grabbed a piece of bread and a bowl of soup. "Just eat this then.... Just eat it."
He looked down blushing.
"I don't get it." I blurted out looking at Peter laying on the bed waiting for me to finish. I didn't. Why did he like me so much, I was nothing to like.
"Get what?" He said sitting up and putting his face near mine. He was exhausted, I could tell because he was playful as he looked at my face and smiled.
"Why do you want to kiss me?"
"That's easy. Because I love you." My heart dropped and I stared at the soup in my hands. I couldn't look up, I couldn't move, I wasn't breathing. I knew he was smirking at my reaction.
"Why?" I barely muttered, putting the soup away. I looked up at him and his face was serious.
"Well, everything feels right with you and I just want to be with you all the time." He scooted closer. "I love it when you basically melt whenever I touch you, or how you changed me into being a better person. I don't know I just...love you."I was speechless, my heart was sinking to my feet. I touched his cheek and leaned in so our lips were basically touching, but I didn't kiss him. His breathing quickened and so did mine. "Wait, aren't I supposed to finish that soup?" I smiled knowing my question would kill him.
"Wendy." He said against my lips.
"I need to finish the soup, Peter. That's what you said." I pulled away a little, but he wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me closer.
"Forget what I said. I need you, I love you." He whispered. He drove me crazy. My eyes fluttered shut when his lips finally pushed against my own. One of his hands on my cheek, the other on the small of my back, pulling me closer to him, making me melt as I hummed in approval. When we pulled away he stared into my eyes, I looked at my soup that had gotten cold. I sighed, stood up, and started walking toward the door. "What, wait." He got up.
"What Peter?" I groaned, turning around. He walked up to me and grabbed my hand and the next thing I knew we were back in my room. I looked at the lost boys. "Ok, now you can get lost, boys." I laughed when Peter groaned at my pun. When then boys left I stopped laughing and looked at Peter. "Why won't she wake up?" I put my head in his chest and he sat us down on my bed.
"I don't know."
"B-but can't you use your magic to see what that drink is." Looking the vial that said 'Drink Me.'
"I can't, it's magic that I don't know. And I know everything about this Island, Wendy." I held him tighter.
"Can you stay with me tonight?" He looked at me. I knew he was scared as well. I just wanted Alice to wake up, but seeing Peter's expression leads me to think that something more is going on. Something didn't feel right. He suddenly took his shirt off and climbed into the bed, pulling me in. I turned around to face him, and I laid my head on his bare chest. I was exhausted.
"You're already sleeping and you didn't kiss me goodnight?" I lifted my head and kissed him. Then I laid back down and smiled into his chest.
"I love you." I said without even thinking. He gasped and he didn't move.
"And I love you. I love you so much." Then I fell asleep happily to the sound of his steady breathing.
