Lucius slammed his fist against the wall of his cell, cursing under his breath. The battle had been very unsuccessful, and on top of that, the prophecy ball had been destroyed. All he wanted to do right now was to see his wife's face and know that she was alright. It has nearly been a week since his incarceration, and he was overwhelmed with worry- no doubt amplified by the dementors that were now guarding his cell.

"Lucius," a voice called from the front of the cell. He turned to see his wife and an unknown figure standing next to her.

"'Cissa?!" He gasped, hurrying toward the entrance of the cell. He slid his hand through the bars. As she grasped it, he made a soft sigh as her hand warmed his. "I was so worried about you," he whispered, his arm embracing her as best as he could. "Are you alright?"

"Physically I'm fine," she whispered, tears going down her eyes. "Mentally..."

"I'm sorry, Narcissa," he whispered, pulling back a bit to study his wife and make sure she was not being affected by the dementors.

"I have my patronus up," Narcissa said suddenly, making him look to her side and see a dragon patronus. "They won't effect me."

Lucius sighed in relief, and clung to her tightly. A fearful thought overwhelmed him. "Has the Dark Lord visited you yet?" He asked.

"No," Narcissa replied softly, cupping his jaw. "But it's only a matter of time..."

"I hate to break this up," the figure beside his wife said suddenly. Lucius recognized it as Severus Snape's voice. "But we must go before the Ministry becomes suspicious of your visit."

"Of course," Narcissa said, turning back to her husband. "I love you, take care of yourself."

"I will," Lucius replied, holding her against the bars. "Take care of our son, now."

Narcissa nodded and reluctantly pulled back from his embrace. "Severus," he called, not taking his eyes off of his wife as she removed the patronus and walked to the other side of the room.

Severus stepped forward. "Yes?"

"The Dark Lord hasn't hurt Narcissa, has he?"

Severus shook his head. "No. It is as she said; although, he will be seeing her tonight- as well as Draco."

Lucius's heart started beating faster. "Does he intend to hurt her?" He asked, worry filling his head and making his heart ache. "He's already used the Cruciatus curse on her once, I don't think she can survive it again."

"I am aware of what happened," he responded carefully. "From what I know, he just plans on talking to her. I won't be there tonight, but Bellatrix will."

"Bellatrix does nothing when it comes to her sister," Lucius growled. "Will you keep me updated? Keep an eye on her and let me know what's going on."

"I will try," Severus said firmly with a nod. "The guards of Azkaban will probably try to interfere, but I will let you know if anything serious happens to her."

"Thank you, Severus," Lucius replied, relief swelling in his heart. "You should go now."

Severus nodded, turning away from his friend and walking out to join Narcissa, who was waiting by the door. A few Aurors walked in- rudely bumping into his wife- and approached his cell. Lucius could see his wife wanted nothing more than to hex them, but she showed a lot of restraint; that, and the fact he could hear Severus urging her to walk away. "Alright," one of them said, unlocking the door to his cell. "Time for you to head to trial."

It wasn't until several months later, after not being able to see his wife since his trial or receive any letters from her, that the wall to his cell exploded. He gasped and turned to see the Dark Lord there. "Let's go, Lucius," Voldemort said, waving him out of the cell. "Unless you'd rather not see your precious Narcissa."
