Kara's POV
I'm Kara. Kara Lakes. The one with the supposedly gorgeous looks. The one with the amazing friends. The one with no money.
I'm poor, like living in my older sister's apartment poor. She looks after me, but I pay half the rent and for everything I need. Causing me to have absolutely no free money. I can't do anything. All of my clothes are hand-me-downs from my sister, Leah. My sister, is gorgeous. While me, I'm just average. Well, that's what I think.
Everyone tells me I have the prettiest brown eyes. But to me, they look like any brown eyes out there. I'm just a pretty humdrum person. Everyone tells me how I have the most gorgeous hair. Well, I hate it. Like want to rip it out and throw it in the trash can hate it.
My hair is blonde. My least favorite color of hair in. The world. It's blonde and really long and stick thin straight. it's absolutely hideous. And everyone tells me otherwise...
I have the perfect figure but, the thing is I'm a complete nobody. Like a never ever to be noticed invisible girl.
I do have friends. The most amazing, at that! They even buy me some clothes. They're so amazing that right now, one of them has found a job for me!
One I cannot refuse.
It pays $1,200 a week. Talk about rich people! Like seriously, it's going to be like horrifying watching all of these posh people while I'm just a poor, ordinary girl.
"Were here!" my best friend Holly chirped.
I peered out the window. Hmm. This is most definitely not like I invisioned.
(as you can tell, like is a word I use often. It's my most Fav. Word)
The house was average. It wasn't a mansion or anything. Just a regular everyday home. It even looked.. Welcoming?
And the weirdest part was, the house seemed familiar. Like total tip of my tounge familiar. It's killing me! Who do I know that lives in a regular house in Colorado besides me? Everyone else lives in four story grand mansions.
"Th-this cannot be it Holls!" I replied, unsure.
"Oh, but it is. It's perfect home stylish and you'll fit right in," she screeched.
Ow. I hope I still have eardrums in the next two years of my life. She is loud!
We both hopped out of the car, me slowly taking in the scenery. This was pretty for a regular home. Scratch that- it was GORGEOUS!
The family had a garden our front, filled with vegtables and colorful flowers. They even had a small barn out back where I could hear the horses blowing raspberries.
Yep, I could totally dig it here.
We rang the doorbell and waited. A middle-aged woman answered and ushered us inside.
"Which one of you is Kara? I read your application and you seem perfect. I only hope my little darling Avery can get along with you," she stated looking sympathetic.
Now, I'm kind of scared to meet the child. Avery.
"Why Thankyou, Mamm." I nodded curtly.
"Avery, dear! Your new sitter is here to meet you!" she called up the stairs.
I heard little pitter-patters coming down the stairs.
Oh my lord. She was the cutest little thin ever!
"Awwhh. Hi there! I'm Kara. You must be Avery?" I knelt down to her level, smiling warmly.
She smiled smugly before speaking, "Yeah yeah, lady. Get ou of my way, fatty! I want some cheetos!" she stomped on my foot.
I groaned in response and Avery smirked before skipping away.
Scratch the whole cutest little thing ever- I'm watching the devil.
