Chapter 12

Sonali's POV

Karan dropped me home the next day.

He was about to bang the car into different things many times and I was practically playing the role of his mom; scolding him and asking him if he's in his senses.

He never spoke anything, just gave my his killer death glares which caused me to shut up. But each time I would realise that I'm no less than a tigress and would start off again.

I even noticed that he had huge dark circles under his eyes. They scared me a little bit but again, I'm a tigress so I didn't let him affect me.

Besides all this, he was strange this morning. There was something different about him, something negative.

Though he gave me glares, he never looked into my eyes. It seemed as if the world would end if he just took a little peek into my eyes.

He dropped me off at my house and I ran straight into my bedroom. But obviously, Rahul stopped me in the lobby.

"Where were you last night?" He asked blocking my way.

"Rahul move" I looked down.

"Where were you last night?" He tried again.

He didn't get a reply so he turned and grabbed Karan's collar.

"What happened last night?" He asked, clenching his teeth.

Karan didn't reply. He casually removed Rahul's hands from his collar and walked off.

Rahul turned to me hoping for an answer but I just walked into my bedroom, shutting him out.

I sat on my bed and checked my phone. I opened my whatsapp and sent a text to Karan.

Me: Hey. I'm sorry about last night.

Karan: what happened last night?

Me: I'm sorry for almost kissing you. I really didn't mean it :(

Karan: no big deal it's okay.

Me: oh nice do you want to come over maybe?

Karan: why don't you come over?

Me: I'll be there in five :)

I picked up my handbag and walked into the lobby.

"Don't tell me you're going to Karan's house again!" Rahul screamt.

My voice was too precious to be wasted on him, so I just looked at him and glared at him.

I sat in my car and and drove off to Karan's.

I entered his bedroom and saw him sitting on the opposite side of his bed, facing his back to me, probably eating something.

"Karan. Hi" I said awkwardly so he would turn.

No response.

I walked up to him and saw him with his eyes shut. Oh so he slept.

"Karannnnnn!!" I screamt and slapped him repeatedly.

No response.

I got a bucket of chilling cold water and threw it on his face.

"Uh. Ya?" He asked, waking up.

"Are you fine?" I asked.

"Ya. What happened to me? I'm fine. So. How're you here?" He asked shifted on the couch, beside me.

"You invited me" I said in a duh tone.

"Oh ya sorry I forgot." He still hadn't looked at my eyes.

"Karan. Look at me." I lifted his chin up to match his eyes with mine. He looked everywhere but into my eyes, which really annoyed me.

"Karan! What's wrong with you? Look into my eyes!" I almost started crying.

"What's wrong with you, dammit! I can't look into your eyes, okay?!" He got up.

"Why?"

"I-I'm scared, okay? Your eyes haunt me!" He started screaming.

"Uh- okay. I'm sorry."

He walked into the washroom and rinsed his face before he returned.

"I'm sorry Sonali." He said.

"My name is not Sonali." I tuned away and folded my arms, though I was still smiling.

"I'm sorry, Sona" I could feel him smile. My smile widened and I tuned and ran into his arms. It was our first ever proper hug.

I sighed and shut my eyes.
