Hermione had stayed at the house for about a week now. Draco and her were quite friendly.

Some nights, they would just talk. Draco would tell her how much he hated being one of them. They would discuss the upcoming war and their roles.

They opted not to celebrate Christmas, not in the current state. Not with the war soon.

One day they were cleaning the house. And, yes, the muggle way. Hermione was cleaning her room.

She realized she needed the duster.

She walked out to ask Draco for it. He was dusting a cabinet. She recently discovered he is a neat freak.

She decided to wait a moment. She never knew why she decided to hang beck a moment.

Suddenly, he looked worried. He reached in the cabinet.

He pulled out a little white bird. It was dead.

Hermione watched him look around for his wand.

He finally found it in his back pocket.

He carefully laid the snowy bird on the table.

"Revivo." he whispered softly.

The bird opened its eyes, as if it were only asleep.

He picked it up and walked over to the window.

He opened the window and let the bird fly away.

Hermione waited a few moments.

"Hey, Draco. Can I borrow the duster."

"Sure Hermione." Draco handed it to her.

She had new thoughts on him. He was not the Malfoy she slightly trusted, he was now Draco. Just Draco.
