Break

Vanessa

Once I'm done getting ready I decide to go ask my brother if he wants to come get breakfast with me. I'm at the door when I hear my brothers voice.

"Wait Shane's you're Brother?"

I freeze at Shane's name and try walking away from the door but my balance get thrown off and I am running into the wall. Jason must have heard me crash into the wall because he comes running out of the room with a confused look on his face but it turns to pure horror when he sees me up and I accept his help. When I'm on my feet I take that time to question him.

"Who were you talking to Jason?"

"I...Um... It was no one."

"Don't give me that bull crap Jason I know you were talking about Shane I'm not stupid and I heard his name." I say getting angry that he feels the need to protect me.

My vision starts to go blurry but I close my eyes and I shake my head a few times to shake it.

"Sis what's wrong?"

"What um... Nothing I'm fine." I say

"No you're not you just closed your eyes and shook your head and you only do that when an image starts to play over and over in you're head, which image is it."

"It's nothing I promise."

"NO I know when you're lying to me." his face shows seriousness yet fear and love at the same time.

I Know that if I don't tell him he wont leave me alone. I hesitate when an image I haven't had for at least a year comes on my mind and I Go blank Not being  able to see or here anything But I start screaming for Shane to get off me not knowing if my voice is even working until I pass out and he world around me becomes non-existent.

Jason

3 Days. She has been out for 3 whole days. We took her to the hospital that night when she didn't wake up. Nothing I mean nothing is snaping her out of this attack. I put her on my lap letting her listen to my heart beat while I played with her hair and so did Brandon. No amount of love or comfort is snapping her out of this one.I do however know that she is having a flashback of the day Shane beat her up. She shakes and cries and it kills me to see my sister like this. She is hooked up to so many machines its not even funny. Her heart has stopped once and it felt like an eternity before they could start it again. She is constantly sreaming Nathans name over and over again. Iv'e only been able to see her a few times because I cant stand to see her like this. I'm currently sitting wither owr fingers intertwined.

"Vanessa If you can hear me I want you to know I'm sorry. I should Have prevented this. I love you and can't loose you. I need you. I would do anything to be able to see you laugh and smile again.Please dom't leave me." I give her hand a squeeze and I feel her hand squeeze back. I look up at her eyes and see them flutter open.

"I love you to." She says in a tired tone.

I Press the little call botton thing to get the nurse, and a moment later a nurse and doctor are standing in the doorway with shocked faces.

"I'll just give her a few scans and tests to see if there is any damage and if there is none she can go home." the doctor says regaining his composer. 

4 hours later 

Vanessa was finally able to go back to the dorm and wanted to see Brandon. She seemed really down and nervous.

"Are you okay V?" I ask concerened.

"Yeah I'm fine." She said in a saddened tone.

"Okay"

When we et back to the dorms I told Brandon That Vanessa wanted to see him on the roof. He didn't say anything and left. I know this isn't going to go well so I follow him to the roof.

Vanessa

"Hey babe." Brandon says placing his arms around my waist making me sad that I'm doing this.

"Hey." I say turning around forcing him to move his arms instantly feeling all warmth leave my body.

I look at the ground and he places his index finger under my chin forching my head to ook at him.

"Are you ok Vanessa." He says using my full name showing me the seriousness of his question.

My eyese start to wander.

"Hey what's wrong." He says whipping a tear from my cheek.

"umm...I um..." I take a deep breath and speek.

I think we should take a break." I say.

"What do you mean Vanessa."

"What I mean is I need time to figure out what to do without an distractions. You mean everything to me but my life is so messed up and I need time I just... I can't..."

"I get it It's fine take all the time you need, I'll be waiting for you if that means I never get married I'm okay with that because you are my everything your the reason I wake up every morning you gave me the courage to speek up to my father. you have changed me Vanesssa and i'll wait... I'll wait."

He walks away and as soon as he is no longer in my sight I fall to my knees crying. An arm goes around my shoulder and I look Up to see my brother.

"Did you hear." I ask in a wihsper.

He just shakes his head yes and I lose it completely, crying my eyes out.

Once I calm down I say...

"Did I do the right thing?"

"I can't tell you whats wright and wrong you have to make that decision for yourself sis."

"Thanks Bro."

"For what?" he asks helping me up.

"Eveything." I say.

We walk to my dorm his arm around my waist. We spend the rest of the night on my bed watching movies and eating snacks.
