Lucy's POV

But it was happening.

There was Natsu rolling on the floor with Gray. They were punching and kicking each other. They were evenly matched, at least that's what I saw. I heard parts of words like "Lucy", "tomboy","dumb","Flame thrower", and "Queen Elsa". Strange. It pained me to see my friends fighting.

"STOP!" I yelled. MY voice cracked. I haven't used it much since nobody has really payed attention or talked to me these days. The yells of the crowd seemed to drown it out my broken scream.

Then, Laxus and his squad came along. Natsu and Gray paid no attention to him walking up as they were too busy brawling with each other.

"You losers..." Lexus muttered as he took in the scene. "You don't know how to fight anyways...let me help you with that!"

He gave a sinister grin then and rolled his sleeves up. He motioned his squad to let him handle it.

With one swift move, he pulled Natsu and Gray apart. A second later, he smashed their heads together. A sickening sound rang throughout the hallway.

The crowd fell silent. Lumps were forming on Natsu and Gray's heads. I winced. Before they could recover from the hard blow, Laxus kneed both of them in the crotch. I growled.

Nobody hurts my friends like that, even if one friend doesn't like me.

I saw both boys rolling on the ground clutching their wounds.

I had enough.

I limped forward towards Laxus, whose back was turned on me. I raised one of my crutches and bonked Laxus on the head. He yelped.

"STOP!" I yelled with all my might. The crowd didn't make a sound. They turned towards me, sneers on their faces.

"Who are you to tell him to stop, tomboy?" A girl sneered.

I clenched my fists. I glared at her with all my might. She shrank and blushed in embarrassment. I mentally cheered.

Then, the sound of clacking heels was echoed throughout the halls.

"Well done, Lucy." A feminine high-pitched voice stated.

The crowd parted.

"Principle Vermillion?" I gasped in shock. I hope she hadn't seen me beat Laxus with my crutch, I didn't want to get suspended.

"Please, Lucy. Only you can call me Mavis." She replied to me cheerily as she got closer to me. I sighed in relief, it looks like she didn't see me.

Some of the faces fell in the crowd.

"I-if you insist..." I trailed off.

Mavis grinned as she whispered in my ear, "What you did was right. Laxus deserved that knock to the head." I blushed in embarrassment, so she had seen me.

She turned to the crowd and the three previously brawling boys. "You three boys, to the nurse right away. The rest of you, go to class. I'll let you off the hook this time. Lucy, come with me. Now go!"

The people jumped and then left to their designated areas.

"M-Mavis? Where are we going?" I asked, fixing my wrinkled shirt. I still need to get used to me calling her name.

Mavis sighed, turning serious. She then faced me. "Lucy, we need to talk."

Just the five words that I need right now.

Perfect.

Just perfect.
