Then, the horse came into view. It's white hair dripped from the pouring rain. The horse's rider however, remained hidden by a black cloak. His long black boots were splashed in mud as he dismounted. Dang it I'm so caught, I thought to myself. The black boots approach me, but didn't seem to spot me. "Come on Emily, where did you go? Where did that runaway go? If I don't find her soon her folks are gonna kill me. Well if she doesn't stop running me around first." He stood there a second then mounted his horse again. "I hope she knows what she's starting." He quickly mounted his horse and snapped the reins. After I was sure I couldn't hear the galloping anymore, I emerged from the muddy ground. The rain still poured washing some of the mud off. I stood up and ringed myself out some. I examined my surroundings not recognize any of the rain soaked surroundings. Something in the distance caught my attention so I decided to investigate it. I approach a large Oak tree with a golden chain necklace swinging. What's a piece of jewelry doing out here? A black stone that looked like a black diamond. I extended my hand to grab the jewel but then froze. What if it's a trap or what if someone's leaving clues to where they have been? I decided to leave pendant and continue my advancement into the woods. After walking a little the rain let up until it completely stopped. I made up my mind to ring out my hoodie so I slung my bag off. I took one arm out then got hung in the other. What's this, my arm was caught on something. The pendent I saw earlier was fastened around my neck like a choker. I tried to remove the choker but found it unmovable. I gave up and grabbed my bag. I tossed my hoodie in my bag, letting my Nightmare before Christmas shirt dry. I put my bag back on my shoulders and processed. I came across a fallen tree across a rushing stream. I placed my right boot on the fallen tree then the other. I honestly didn't need to fall from this height. It was the height of a good fence from the water. I was also pretty sure the water would be freezing now. I started to carefully walk over the tree when I heard a snap behind me. I looked behind me and saw a large wolf. This wolf wasn't the size of normal wolfs I saw many times in the woods. This wolf was a lot larger than normal, fearful wolfs. Still balanced on the tree, I stood there frozen. Was this wolf going to pounce or just walk away? To my fright, the wolf started to stalk towards me. Oh no this can't be happening. If I fall I'm sure I will break something, it's to heigh. The worst part would be if the wolf jumped off and killed me. The wolf slowly approached me causing me to step back. Of course the water from the rushing stream made the log slick. Once my boot made contact, I slid off the log. I gasped as I caught the edge of the dead tree. To my surprise, the wolf jumped the same time I fell. My slip saved me. However the wolf didn't go over the edge, he regained his footing and landed on the other side. He wasn't happy that he missed his target so he stepped on the fallen tree. Hanging by the edge of the bark, I swung freely over rushing waters. The large beast stood hovering over me, baring his teeth. So this is going to be the end of me? My wounded arm busted back open sending pain to my shoulder. At this point I knew my chances were slim. The wolf lend down to finish me off when he was struck. A wooden arrow was now sticking out from the woods side. He howled in pain and fell into the rippling current. My fingers began to slip as the tingling feeling in my arm set in. I tried to pull myself up but found it no use. This was it, I couldn't hold on no longer. I let go of the tree.....
