I heard the noise before I saw it. The harsh and definite sound of a saber, followed by a door sliding open

Three gunshots, then felt pain in so many places. My white robe swished around as I struggled to stand.

My eyes blurred, and I glowered up from my bloodied robe. I saw the figure of a God. The shadow ran forward, and what looked like a fancy lightsaber was sheathed and put away. I saw his hand, in a black leather glove, rise up to my face. The last thing I remember was falling into two strong arms.

"You can wake now, love." Was the next thing I knew. The pains in my body seemed to be gone, but I dared not open my eyes.

For the first time in my life, I was somewhere comfortable. I could feel my body ever so slowly sinking into whatever was underneath me.

I allowed my eyes the ability to flutter open. Above me was a ceiling, not a cement one, but a flat and expensive one. "Wh-where am I?" My voice was raw, as if sandpaper had been scraping against it. In my defence, I hadn't spoken in...days? Months? Years? I didn't know how long I had been there.

I shivered thinking of it. "How long did they keep you there? In that...prison?" I didn't recognize the voice, though it sounded deep and masculine.

"I-I don't know. I was traded there at sixteen. March twenty-third," I studdered.

"So eleven months...that's cruel, even for them. How old were you when they first took you?" I knew he was a force user, if he was the one who had saved me before. I couldn't decipher why he didn't just take the information from my head.

"Four, I think. I don't remember very much," was all I could manage. I desperately wanted to ask for some water, but the man terrified me too much to speak anything extra.

"So young. What's your name?" He asked.

"Skylar." I wanted to know his name, as his suit seemed familiar to me. I couldn't quite place my finger on who he was or where I knew him from.

"Skylar, hmm? Interesting. Why did they have you there?" Was his next question.

I took a good look at the man and gasped. "You-you're Kylo Ren," I stated, "one of the Knights of Ren." I paused, taking in his annoyed sigh before finishing. "Sorry, sir! I didn't mean to avoid your q-question. They told me I had too much darkness in m-me for me to remain out in the real world. I-I'm a danger to society."

"Is that what they told you?" Kylo Ren's voice was distorted, probably due to the mask he wore, but I didn't object. It was soothing listening to him.

I nodded, my eyelids closing in shame. "I trained as a Jedi for a while, but...well, they told me I'd never be good enough. They locked me away so I couldn't hurt anyone." My blood began to boil, and I felt my eyes tear up from anger. "They all deserve to die, they're all self-centered assholes who only want to protect themselves!"

Kylo Ren stopped talking for a moment as a reaction to my anger, and then placed a hand on my back, and one under my knee.

"Wh-what are you doing?" I asked, attempting to keep my voice innocent.

"Just because there is no pain, does not mean that you can do anything with your body yet."

I shut my mouth as I realized he could have killed me. But he didn't.

The only question is, why?
