I sit in front of my laptop, watching the screen. 'Relax, just... Breathe, and everything will be-'

"Whats taking so long Ana? All you have to do is say your name and what you have to say! Click record already!" My friend complains from the other side of my laptop.

I sigh and fix my red hair "Alright! Just... Give me a-"

"No. Im clicking record now. We've already wasted three days." He reaches over to my mouse.

"Wait Da-"

"And go!"

He clicks record and I'm sitting there with my mouth wide open looking like a complete fool. I give an awkward scoff before smiling and sitting up straight.

"H-Hi. I'm Annabelle Collins, and i would like to apply for Duke University." I start, my mouth dry and my palms sweaty. "I'm sure you guys get many applications every day, saying the same things, but you'll like to hear my story.

"I wish to major in both Chemistry and Biology, with a minor in many other subjects. Dance, theatrical arts, and other fine arts. I have always been interested in dancing ever since I was a-"

"Ana! Back on topic!" My friend growls softly, trying not to be caught on film.

"Oh! Right!" I give an awkward laugh. "Anyway... I would be greatly honored if you accepted me into your university. I hope you'll enjoy my essay and note attached to this film and get back to me!" I smile as he turns it off.

"Oh Ana... Why didn't you mention... It?" He asks, editing the film on my laptop already. "Don't you think that's a big factor?"

I sigh, looking away. "Damien, you know I've always wanted to go to Duke University... I'm not letting my stupid powers get in the way, and I'm sure as Hell not going to a 'school of enhanced powers' place. They'd swallow me whole there!" I complain.

He turns to face me and takes my hands. "I hope you're right Anna. I'm sure Duke will love you." He smiles, giving me a peck on the cheek.

"I hope so. I just think they don't need to know that tiny little fact. No one needs to know that I can breathe fire. How bad can that be?" I smile sarcastically. You know what they say... Famous last words.
