A few hours later, we were heading back to our rooms. Dawn was coming and the hotel needed to open it's doors again to continue mimicking the human world. Once we were inside our room, the door closed securely behind us Damon beamed at me, picked me up and swung me around in a circle.
"You were amazing!" he exclaimed as he set me down and kissed me, roughly and harder than he had in the past but I quite like the changed. I kissed him back, feeling that same heat rush through me that I'd felt earlier that day.
"Thanks," I said, breathless as we broke away. "You weren't so bad yourself."
"You should have seen Marilyn's face when you defended me!" He howled, entire frame shaking, black hair a little messy thanks to me. I'd gotten my fingers a little tangled up in when he'd been kissing me, thankfully, the disheveled look was something he wore pretty well.
"I was too busy looking at Dominic's," I told him, laughing at the memory. "His eyes were popping out of his head!" I braced my hand on the wall and kicked off my heels. After a handful of hours standing in them, they were no longer comfortable. "I didn't overstep my boundaries with Marilyn did I? I didn't want to offend her but I admit my judgement was probably not the best then. I was a little peeved."
"Ember you were burning a hole in her face," Damon informed me as he undid his tie. "But don't worry, she probably respected you for it. Marilyn likes people with backbones, even if she doesn't agree with their stance. She prefers people to who stand for something as opposed to those who don't."
"Glad to hear it," I said, feeling a weight lift off my shoulders. I was glad I hadn't done something stupid. I had been feeling okay about it, but the assurance from Damon finally took away that worry that I had been wrong.
"You really were amazing tonight," Damon told me, wrapping his arms around my waist. "Thank you, for making me look so good and backing me up."
His voice was so sincere, so was that little smirk on his face. I felt myself blush, suddenly horribly self-aware under his intense gaze. "That's kind of what we do isn't it? Bail each other out of tough spots?"
"Yeah," he agreed. "I guess it is." Then he kissed me again, slower than before but the feeling wasn't dimmed in the least. His arms were wrapped around me, one sliding over the slippery material of my dress, hand pressing into my back and pressing our bodies closer, and the other was pressing softly into the side of my face. That flash of heat spread through my body and was even more intense wherever his body touched mine.
I liked that feeling and I liked it alot. I responded to his touch, tangling my fingers into his soft black hair again and pulled him closer to me. I heard him gasp and his cool breath tickled my face. Impulse started to rule me rational thoughts being overshadowed by the intense sensations rolling over my senses. It was dark, I saw nothing save for the inside of my eyes, but I didn't need to. My other senses picked up the slack. I could feel Damon's soft hair, his hard chest pressed against mine, his scent like a cloud around us and his hungry lips against mine. That was all that mattered it was all I needed to be aware of.
Damon fell back into the couch, I pulled away just a little bit and laughed at the sudden stint of clumsiness. I hadn't even realized we were that close to the furniture. "Ember," Damon gasped, breathing heavy and his forehead pressed against mine.
"Yeah?" I panted, heart racing and head in the clouds, but Damon didn't answer me. He was kissing me again, mouth tracing my jawline and god it felt good.
My head spun as I titled forwards, falling into his chest, in our fall, I'd been caught at a strange angle and my balance had been shaking at best, when Damon's hands trailed away from my jaw and put a slight amount of pressure on shoulder and that had been enough to throw it off entirely. I felt the strap of my dress slide off my shoulder, Damon's mouth leaving a trail of kisses across my collar bone.
