*Sky*

How did I manage to end up with a busted lip and a black eye my first few hours back? It was just too crazy. Had I made the right choice in coming back early?

I walked to the kitchen and grabbed a bag of peas from the freezer and put it on my swollen eye. I was hoping that it would help it not look so bad. My mom was going to flip out when she saw me. I pulled my phone out and dialed the one person besides Raven that I knew had my back.

"Stephen, I need you, please come. I know its short notice, but I can't do this." I said, sobbing into the phone.

"Calm down for a minute, sweetheart. Slow down and tell me what happened? Tell me everything." He said, trying his best to understand me."You are upset, just sit tight. I'm going to pack a bag and get on a plane. Text me your address. I'll be there in a few hours." He said, ending the call.

Relief filling my body. I sat on the couch longer than I had wanted to think about how lucky I was to have a friend as great as Stephen.

We had quite an unusual friendship. The way we meet was unexpected; I thought with a smile. On my first day of school, at Jefferson Prep, he had been assigned my tutor; apparently, this school was advanced. Anyone who came in from another school had to have tutoring sessions five days a week for my first month.

When he had walked in, I had been beyond surprised. He was super cute, he was tall and built like he played every sport. You could tell he was in impeccable shape.

I had frowned, thinking that this boy could not seriously be my tutor. What could a boy like him teach me? Then he had surprised me for a second time. He was smart, brilliant. He had been polite and patient, answering all questions. He was a great tutor, which surprised me.

He had baffled me. I left that day wondering who this boy was? It didn't take long to find out. He was Stephen Delacruz, heir to the blue diamond empire. They were famous for their diamonds; they were the best in their trade.

He was one of the elite, and to my amazement, he played no sports. The next few sessions had gone well, but something seemed to be bothering Stephen.

"Sky, can I ask you something?"

"Sure," I had answered curiously about what he could need to ask me?

"Do you think I'm attractive?" He asked.

I sighed and looked up at him "of course, I think you're attractive. I'm not blind. But for the record, that doesn't mean I like you or anything. It's just the truth." I stated honestly, meeting his eyes.

"Zero chance," I smiled up at him.

"So you're saying that if I were interested in you, I wouldn't even have a chance?" He asked, watching me intently.

"I just don't want something like that with you or anyone."

"Guys like you are not for me? You are the type of guy that could break someone's heart without trying. As usual, I couldn't tell, so I answered his questions truthfully.I signed and met his gaze, trying to read if he was serious or not.

"Am I not your type? Cause I'm everyone's type." He asked with a grin.

He had smiled, liking my answer, and we had been the best of friends since that day. He liked that I had no interest in dating him. I only wanted his friendship.

I listened to his endless ranting and raving on his love life. I always gave him the most honest advice I could. He liked to drag me everywhere, and it drove his girlfriend's crazy. Which is why I think he did it.
