*Sky*
The song finally ended, and I pulled away from him quickly. Destiny was coming to stand next to Trever, narrowing her eyes at me.
I met her gaze, not willing to let her belittle me.
It was hopeless; this girl had already made her mind up about me, even though I had done nothing.
"You ready to take another spin around the dance floor, sweetheart," Stephen said, taking my arm and pulling me away, leaving Trevor and Destiny standing there.
"Lifesaver," I said, laughing while he twirled me around the dance floor.
Everything was always so straightforward and easy with Stephen. He was as laid back as they came. He was funny and thoughtful. When he wanted to be, it all depended on who you were. Not everyone was privy to that side of him.
"Thank you for being my fake boyfriend," I said with a huge grin.
"Who are you dating right now?" I asked, curious.
"I'm not committed to anyone right now. Just taking girls on dates stuff like that." He grinned.
"I just don't want a girlfriend mad cause she thinks I'm trying to steal her man. I've got enough of those," I said with a frown.
"Too late. You have already stolen my heart." He said, placing his hand on his chest with a grin dramatically.
"Your horrible," I said, sticking my tongue out at him.
"I try," he laughed.
When the song ended, he placed his hand on my back and walked me back to the table.
I knew he loved every second he got to torture Trevor and Jason, and I smiled because deep down, I loved it too.
"I brought you a present?" Stephen whispered in my ear.
"You did?" I whispered back, excited.
"Stephen, what did you do," I asked, keeping my voice down.
"Okay, before you get mad, let me plead my case." He grinned.
He pulled a small box from his pocket and handed it to me.
"Open it. I think you're going
to love it." He said, waiting patiently.
As Raven walked by, she stopped when she saw what Stephen had given me.
"Open it already," before I have a heart attack, wondering what it is," Raven said, everyone at the table turning to look at me.
I opened the box, and my breath caught. It was the ring he and I had designed together.
Beautiful blue diamonds lined the band, sparkling beautifully with the light.
"Thank you," I said, throwing my arms around his neck.
"So, does that mean you like it and aren't going to kill me?"He chuckled.
"I love it, Stephen, but no more big gifts," I said.
"No way that's real," Destiny said loud enough for me to hear.
This girl was working my nerves.
"You got me, it's fake," Stephen said with a small laugh.
"I'm sorry, Sky, you deserve nothing but the best," He said, faking embarrassment.
Destiny looked at us like we were crazy, but I didn't care. I was not going to let her ruin this moment for me. Stephen had given me the perfect gift. It was thoughtful, but what made it more special was that we had come up with the design together—every placement and color of the stones chosen by us.
