Chapter 3

Serenity
I miss Shawn. I didnt want to attend school when he wasnt there. This guy in our grade always gave me creepy looks. But today he was openly smirking at me.
I shivered in disgust at how he was being such a weirdo. I dont even know his name! Just that it starts with an A. As the last class of the day ended; i got up with the rest only to have my path blocked.
Looking up i saw that it was the guy who had been giving me creepy looks. I tried to sidestep him but he blocked my path every time.
"W-what?" I snapped.
I wanted him to see that i wasnt easy but shit! My voice stuttered. Damn! The boy grinned at me mischieviously.
"Dont act grumpy sugar pie. I know you like me," he said.
I looked at him in disgust. Me? Like him? Hah! As if! The only person i would like is my mate. If i find him that is.
"Please leave me alone," i whispered.
Damn! Why does my voice not come through in situations like these? When with Shawn i am not shy at all and when the time comes to be confident i am all shy. I hate that about myself. That i cant stick up for myself without Shawn.
"Oh come on darling. Your brother isnt here to protect you. You dont have to hide behind him," the guy said smirking.
I backed away with a step and he followed until my back hit the wall. My heart was thumping hard in my chest. My eyes wide with fear. I knew he wanted only one thing. And that was sex.
No way was i going to allow him to take my only precious thing: my virginity. That was only saved for my mate. And no one else had any right to it!
"Now are you going to listen to me or have it the hard way?" He asked leaning close to me.
I stiffened and pulled away on instinct. How i wish Shawn didnt had to get suspended!
"And if i dont?" I asked.
"You wont like what i do to you baby. You wont be able to show your face to anyone here," he said leaning super close to me.
Just a fraction more and his lips would press against mine. Before any of us could even blink an eye; the guy was ripped off me. With a gasp i looked up to see Nathan, Joey and Rosie. Nathan had a hold on the guy.
"Care to explain what you were doing?" Nathan growled.
He hadnt even become an official Alpha yet and his voice scared the shit out of me! What can i do? I am not confident enough. I never will be bold.
"Why the hell were you with my sister?" Rosie asked emphasizing the word sister.
"Your sister?" The guy asked visibly scared.
"Yes and if any of us sees you do this to her you are dead. Got that?" Nathan growled.
"Y-yes Alpha!" He stuttered.
"Good. Now get the hell out!" Rosie snarled.
The guy scampered off and the three looked at me. I pressed myself against the wall willing it to somehow hide me. I didnt know how they found me and i didnt care. I only trusted Shawn. And my parents. Not even Rosie did i trust.
"Are you ok Serenity?" Rosie asked softly.
I only nodded; knowing i could have gotten raped had they not being there in time. Which reminded me; i had to ask Rosie how she knew i was in trouble.
"H-how d-did you k-know i w-was h-here?" I stuttered.
"Nathan felt one of the pack members in trouble. You know he's the Alpha in training. And we came here," Rosie said.
"Tha-thanks," i stuttered again.
Then remembered i hadnt called him Alpha. Shit. I didnt want to get into trouble with him! Did i just said shit way too many times? Well thats the only curse word i use so sue me.
"Thanks Alpha," i said with a bow.
"You dont have to bow to me Serenity," Nathan said.
My name on his lips felt so smooth and like silk. Not even Shawn spoke my name like that. Something had changed between Nathan and i. I knew that but i didnt know what.
"You are still Alpha," i said.
"Come on. Lets go home. I am hungry," Joey said.
"You are always hungry," Rosie rolled her eyes.
I picked up my backpack and started walking outside.
"Where are you going?"
"Um home?" I asked confused.
"You are coming with us," Nathan said.
I was? What was it with this change in behavior? I bit my bottom lip and thought for a moment. Should i go with them or not? They havent been the best people for Shawn and me.
"Come on Serenity. We dont bite," Rosie said.
I sighed and nodded. I hoped i had made a good decision. All the way home i kept silent while they talked and laughed. When we entered the pack house i was immediately hugged by Shawn.
"What took you so long sis? And why are you with these three? Did anything happen?" Shawn asked in one breath.
"I am fine," i smiled at him.
"A guy would have molested her if we hadnt arrived in time," Rosie said.
I widened my eyes. Rosie shouldnt have said that! Shawn was already possessive as it was!
"WHAT?!" Shawn yelled.
His eyes turned a dark shade of grey. Shit.
"Hey its ok. He didnt do anything," i said trying to calm him down.
"He could have done anything to you!" Shawn exclaimed.
What he did next surprised us all. Shawn banged his head against the wall leaving a large hole.
"Shawn!" I cried hurrying over to him.
"Whats going on here?"
We all turned around to see dad standing with a frown on his face.
"I am going out," Shawn grumbled.
"Shawn-
He didnt even wait to listen to dad and thats what got me stumped. Shawn was never this way. Why was he so angry all the time now? What was happening to him? I wanted my sweet and caring brother back. At any costs. I was going to find out what was bothering him.
Ooohhh... so what do you think is happening to Shawn? And what about Serenity and Nathan? Whats starting up between them? ;)
