~Mike's POV~

When I came down the stairs that morning, ready to go out on my run, Johnny and Briggs where already awake and in the kitchen, talking in low voices.

"She came home last night, round 2 am. Smelled like she'd had a few." Briggs was saying. Johnny snorted.

"What? Shoshana drink?"

"A rookie cop was killed during her Op... Completely not her fault. According to his own Captain, the kid was playing hero, and covering Shoshana when she had stressed she was going in alone first. Paid muscle saw him and shot him right between the ribs. Pierced a lung. EMTs where too slow and the kid died on scene." I paused outside the door and listened, wondering if they where talking about the other FBI agent that lived in the house, Shoshana Kane. The one I hadn't met yet.

"Shit. But why's she taking it so hard?"

"Shoshana's always taken dying in the line of duty hard. Her dad was a cop in London and was killed while investigating a break and entry call." Johnny blew out a long breath and they where quiet for a minute. I walked into the kitchen and nodded to both of them.

"'Morning Levi." Johnny said, calling me by the stupid nickname Charlie had given me. I walked to the fridge and opened the door, scanning the interior for the bottled water I'd put there last night.

"Morning Johnny, Briggs." I said, pushing DJ's orange juice out of the way.

"Mike," Briggs said, then addressed Johnny again.

"My guess is, we won't see her until at least noon, and then she'll be hungover." I took out my water and unscrewed the lid.

"Who?" I asked, faking innocence. Johnny turned to me.

"The other FBI Agent, Shoshana Kane, got home last night. Her crazy ass dog's the one that's been trying to kill you the past few days." I grimaced. Deuteronomy, the house doberman, did not like me, and had nearly taken a piece out of me my first day. Briggs had explained that Shoshana had trained him like that, so he wouldn't allow any strangers in the house. Supposedly she had to command Deuteronomy not to attack someone, and then he became a normal dog. I doubted it. That dog just plain hated me.

"Oh. Where's she been?" it was Briggs who answered, taking a sip out of a coffee mug.

"She was working a case undercover for the past three months, and her Op was successful this week, but a cop died. She takes that stuff hard and got pretty hammered last night." I nodded slowly, and reopened the fridge, took two more bottles of water out, and began to walk back toward the stairs.

"What are you doing?" Johnny asked. I looked back at him over my shoulder.

"You said she'll be hungover, so I'm gonna put water and Advil by her bed." Johnny laughed.

"Try and go into her room and Old Deuteronomy will take your balls off!" Briggs smirked.

"Let him try. Maybe my screams will wake her and she can finally get him off my ass." I retorted, and walked back upstairs.

I knew there was Advil in the cupboard in my, or rather Dan's bathroom, so I went to get it. Then, carrying the water and medicine, I walked down the hall to the room Johnny had pointed out as hers my first day. The door was slightly open, and I peeked inside. Deuteronomy was no where insight, even on the bed where a lump under the light blue comforter told me where Shoshana was probably hould up. I gently nudged opened the door, and waited for Deuteronomy to attack. He didn't. Edging inside, I kept glancing around, Johnnys threat looming in my mind. I finally caught sight of the huge Doberman, asleep on his pillow like bed in the corner. Quickly, so as not to wake either of them, I set the two water bottles and bottle of Advil on her nearest bedside table, next to her holster and badge. All I caught sight of over the comforter was a mane of auburn hair, she'd pulled the sheets right over her face. Mission accomplished, I backed out of the room while keeping my eyes on Deuteronomy, and closed the door quietly.
