~Shoshana's POV~

The ponding in my head sounded like I'd stashed a few dozen hammers inside, and they only magnified my colossal migraine. Groaning loudly, I snuggled deeper into the covers. Deuteronomy jumped onto the bed and lay right next to me, his body heat warming me through the blankets. I grimaced and, knowing I'd have to face sunlight sooner or later, ripped the covers off my head. The sunlight wasn't as bad as I thought, but my headache throbbed anyway. I sighed, staring up at my ceiling. God now I remembered why I hated excessive drinking. My hangovers where close to apocalyptic. Turning to give Deuteronomy a pat, I caught sight of two plastic bottles of water and a bottle of Advil on my nightstand. I stared at it for a moment, wondering who would have put it there.

Briggs wasn't really the type, and I was pretty sure he was the only one who knew I was home. I glanced at the clock and groaned again. 8:07. I'd so hoped to sleep till at least 3 in the afternoon. Reaching out I took one of the waters, feeling the icy condensation against my palm, and took a nice long draught. It tasted like it came from God's personal water fountain and I finished off the bottle in four quick swallows. Crushing the empty plastic, I reached for the other and popped open the bottle of Advil.

Charlie would have probably left the stuff for me, but the glance I took into her room last night told me she'd been out. Probably hooking up with what's his name.

Johnny wouldn't have, he was more of a jump on the bed and scream type when he knew you where hungover, little prick.

Lauren wasn't my biggest fan so she was out, and Jakes liked to sleep too much to get up early to set out a hangover package for me. I swallowed four capsules and downed half the bottle of water, petting Deuteronomy who was wagging his tail in delight. I'd missed my baby, but he didn't like strangers all that well so taking him on Ops was a bad idea. Leaning forward I snuggled up to his neck.

"Did you miss mommy, baby? Did ya? Did ya?" I asked in my baby voice, and Deuteronomy gave a few short barks to express his enthusiasm. My head throbbed but I cuddled him anyway.

"I missed you too, baby! Mommy missed you!" Deuteronomy jumped off the bed and pranced over to the door, yipping.

"You want breakfast boy? Huh? Do ya?" crouching over playfully, with his rump in the air, Deuteronomy barked once. I got out of bed, slipped my feet into my favorite fuzzy pink slippers and opened the bedroom door. Out Deuteronomy streaked, down the hall towards the stairs, me right after him. It was quiet upstairs, but as we neared the kitchen, I heard Johnny and Briggs talking. Deuteronomy ran into the kitchen and I heard Johnny say,

"Hey boy! Your pincushion already left." I came in and looked at Johnny, arms crossed.

"Pincushion?" Johnny looked up and gave me a big grin.

"How's your head, Shoshana?" he asked cheekily. I snorted and walked over to Deuteronomy's food dish.

Bloody fantastic, and fuck you." turning to Briggs, I said,

"So, I'm up. Are you sure we even have a rookie? None of the rooms look any different to me." Briggs, who was nursing a mug of coffee he'd just refilled, said,

"Mike's staying in Dan's room for now." I paused while scooping out a cup of dog food.

"What did Lauren say about that?" Johnny laughed.

"Told him not to unpack." I rolled my eyes.

"What a bitch." Briggs tried to hide his smile.

"Now Shoshana, cut her some slack-" I grimaced.

"Hell no. It's not like he asked for Dan's room. She's so rude." I lay the now full food dish down, and Deuteronomy promptly came over and sat down in front of it and looked up at me expectantly.
