Chapter 1: Prologue
Fire. Everywhere. Screams echo through the midnight sky. The panicked footsteps of ten hit the forest floor, trying to escape the scene unfolding in front of them. The ten are frantic to get home. The five couples have just begun their families; each with newborn children waiting for their return, with a babysitter, unknowing of their parent’s fate. As the ten were close to their freedom and safety, the very same people they were running from surrounded them, blocking every one of their escape routes. Their male leader comes very close to a dark haired female in the group of ten and whispers loud enough for all to hear “This is the end, witch”. Before the group of ten could react, they began choking on air that wouldn’t fill up their lungs. Fighting with all they had left to rid their necks of the non-existent hands that seemed to be sucking the life out of every one of their bodies. In their minds they knew that what the man said was true. This was truly their end, and with all their might, they willed their remaining powers to their children; with that they took their final breaths and were gone in an instant.
