The wake up

-Kiara-

Beep, beep, beep, what is that annoying sound? I try to open my eyes but they're so heavy. I move my arm but I stop immediately when a heavy pain goes through it. Now I'm fully awake. Where am I? What happened? ''Mom, dad?!'' I try to yell, but there comes only a soft noise from my mouth. I try again, ''mom, dad?! Where are you?!'' Immediately someone opened the door. For a second I was happy because I thought it was my mother, but it wasn't.

''Hi, I'm nurse Ginny, but you can call me Gin.'' She said with a smile. ''I'm glad that you're awake. how do you feel?''

''Where am I? And where are my parents? I want to see them!'' I try to get up, but the whole room starts to spin. The nurse comes to me and tries to lay me down. ''You are in the hospital. You were attacked on school, remember? Your parents are in the room next to yours. If you just lie down, I call them.''

''NO! I want to see them immediately! Let me go!'' I start to cry. I just want to be with my parents. More nurses come in. "Quickly!" Said Ginny. ''Hold her still.'' Suddenly I feel a light pain in my arm. when I look, I see nurse Ginny sticks a needle into it. ''No, no! I just want to...'' I try to finish my sentence, but I can't stay awake. Slowly I glide into the darkness. Ginny sighs. ''Well, we can call the doctor now. Poor kid. She was very confused. She can rest now.'' The other nurses nod and walked away.

When I wake up, for a second I don't know where I am. But then I remember. We are in the hospital for Kiara. Kiara? I immediately wake Avi. He moans. ''Wake up love, we have to check on Kiara.'' Those words makes Avi fully awake. He looks at me with a worried face. ''What if...'' Avi stops. I shrug. ''Don't think like that. If that happened, don't you think they would have called us?'' He nods. ''Shall we get dressed? I'm hungry.'' I nod. ''Fine. While you eat, I check upon our daughter.''

**Fifteen minutes later**

I walk out of our room and search for a nurse. I see one coming out of a room. ''Hello? Can I ask you something? Do you know how my daughter is doing?'' The nurse smiles at me, ''What is your daughter's name?'' "Kiara, Kiara Kaplan. She was brought here last night." ''Oh, I see. If you follow me.'' She didn't wanted to say something to me. Is that a good sign, of a bad one? I don't know. With a worried face I follow her. I notice we walk away from Kiara's room, but I say nothing. We stop for a door. Which say Doctor Wakefield.

The nurse knocks on the door and the door opens. ''Good morning Kathy. What can I do for you?'' ''Doctor, This is the mother of Miss Kaplan. She asked for her daughters condition so I brought her here.'' ''Thank you Kathy. You can continue your work now.'' ''Yes ma'am.'' She turned around and walked away. ''Come in please.'' Said Dr. Wakefield. ''How is my daughter doing?'' I asked her when I walked in. ''She'd just woke up, but we had to put her to sleep because she was very confused.''

''Can we see her?" I hoped so much that we could see her, because I wanted to see with my own eyes if she's doing okay. ''Of course, if you follow me.'' She walked out of her office, walking into the direction I'd came from. She walks towards Kiara's door next to ours. I quickly call Avi. When he comes out of our room he looks worried at me and stands next to me holding my hand. Dr. Wakefield opens the door and enters the room. When I walk in I see my daughter lying there, for a second I think she's dead. But then I see her breast going slowly up and down.

I walk to her and touch her forehead. It's warm. I start to rub her head. Trying to wake her up, but she doesn't move. I feel Avi standing behind me. I look upon him and a tear comes out of my eye. I want nothing of this going to happen to her ever again. I see tears coming from Avi's eyes too. I grab his hand again and hold you close. For a while we stand there. Not knowing what to do. Eventually Avi sits down in a chair and closes his eyes. But I stay where I am. Next to my precious daughter. After a while I get tired from standing the whole time. So I grab a chair too and sit next to the bed.

-Kiara-

I hear some people arguing about something. My head isn't clear enough to understand what they are talking about. After a while I recognise the voices. Mom and Dad! I try to open my eyes a few times before it actually happens. "Mom, dad?" I try to smile, but I'm very tired so it didn't really lift my mouth. Immediately they stop talking. Both looking at me with the happiest face I've ever seen. "You're awake!" My mom says while running to me. She hugs me very tightly and I feel her tears falling on my skin. "Yeah, hi mom, hi dad. How it's going?" "Very good since you are finally awake. "Said my father after kissing my face.

"How long was I gone?" "For almost a week." My mother tries to smile but she fails. "I'm a little thirsty. Can you bring me some water please?" "Yes, yes of course. Here it is." My father gave me a bottle with a straw in it. Immediately I start to drink. Nurse Ginny walks in. "Hey, you're awake. I call the doctor." when she walks out I give the water bottle back to my father.

Doctor Wakefield walks in. "Good afternoon Kiara and Mrs. and Mr. Kaplan. I'm Doctor Wakefield. I'm glad you're finally awake. How are you feeling today?" "A little dizzy. But fine." I look at her. She seems nice. But I'm not quite sure. "Good, good. Your wounds are healing good I see. I'll give you some medication but I think you can go home in about a week."
