:C H A P T E R  E I G H T:

Days, days, and days pass. After a long week of preparation, the day is finally coming. I still cannot believe that I actually give in to my parents' will, so easily. All my books are packed into a box, my clothes are carefully folded into a few suitcases, and I'm ready to go.

Harry has been in my house since early morning, my mum has called him to help, of course she did. I sit on the edge of my bed, giving this choice one last thought and hoping this is the right thing to do. As I'm drowned in my own thoughts, someone's knocking on my door.

"Come in."

"Are you ready?" Harry's mutters quietly, still standing by the doorframe.

"I think I am," I glance towards him, "I'll meet you downstairs."

He understands the signal and once again I'm left alone. The thoughts of my parents' plan for me come rushing back to my mind, why do I have to do this? I can't help but ask that to myself, I know how this works, I know perfectly what this is about. Just some stupid game of gain.

Sometimes I do wonder what Harry has to say about this. This past couple of weeks I've been given time to know more about him, and so easily giving up on this arrangement is something I wouldn't imagine him do. I decide to end all the thinking and start scolding myself to accept what I have ahead instead. I walk down the stairs with sweater casually slung on my forearm, as I get further down I see Harry's leaning against the wall, typing away on his phone. I clear my throat and he looks up at me, "Let's go," he calls out before helping me with my things.

After putting my stuff into the luggage, I walk back inside to say my goodbyes. I see my mum standing alongside my dad, they walk toward me and give me a tight hug.

"Ale, dear, we're terribly sorry that we can't accompany you this time," my mum says with a glint of tears in her eyes.

"It's okay, Mum. It's not my first time moving out anyway," I blurt out and she smiles at my remark.

"Stay safe, Ale. We'll visit you as soon as we can," my dad then joins in.

We exchange "I love you's" before they actually let me go. They also explain their reason of why they aren't able to accompany me; dad's business trip, of course. My dad is always busy though he always makes time for me, that's what I'm most grateful of. I had the luxury of being with my parents all the way through growing up, despite their busy routine. With them leaving me for business trips once in a while, of course.

I walk outside toward Harry's car and get inside. Once I'm inside, he doesn't say a word, he only starts the car and brings us out of my driveway.
