Melissa had been unconscious; she knew that much as she awoke from her chloroform-induced stupor. The other thing she knew was that she was not where she had been when she was knocked out. It felt too clean to be the hotel they had been staying in. She felt too clean. It was like she had just taken a shower. Melissa could even feel the little beads of water cascading down her skin.
As soon as she was able, Melissa opened her eyes. She was, at first, met with a blinding light. Soon, however, her eyes got used to the new tone of brilliance and took in all of her surroundings. She seemed to be strapped to a nice looking four-poster bed inside a room with... no windows. In fact, the only way in or out seemed to be a door far out of her reach. 'Although,' Melissa thought sadly, 'Even if I could reach it, it's probably locked.'
"Oh, dearest! I'm back! Are you awake yet~?" Jacob burst into the room, wearing a black tank top and jeans, as if this were the most normal thing in the world for him.
"L-let me go!" even as the words escaped Melissa's lips, she knew her voice was not nearly strong enough to make even a small amount of difference in this psycho's twisted mind.
"Angel, you know I can't do that," Jacob cooed, gently sitting down on the bed next to her, "You might try to run away from me! This is all so you'll love me. It's for the best, you'll see."
"I will never love a monster like you!" Melissa spat against her better judgment, "You killed my best friend and then a girl who was only doing her job! Not to mention, those six women prior!"
"Six women?" Jacob's face turned dark as a malicious smirk cracked open upon his face, "I've killed far more than just six women. I've been doing this for so many years that I've perfected the art. You think I've only been doing this for the year since they discovered my kills? No. I simply allowed them to find that one, something to attract your attention. My kill count is somewhere in the hundreds by now," he non-too-gently gripped Melissa's chin in his hand and forced her to look up at him and his now very innocent face, "You're just so perfect I couldn't hide my love anymore."
"What do you want from me?!" Melissa sobbed, thinking off all the women who had died because of Jacob's sick obsession with her.
"Isn't it obvious?" A large innocent smile spread itself across his face as he beamed down at her, "I want your heart."
'Run,' Melissa thought to herself desperately as she sped down the alleyway, 'run!' After three days of enduring Jacob's cruel and twisted affection she had finally found a way to escape and used the opportunity.
Horribly loud footsteps echo behind her as she runs for her life. Jacob is going to be extremely angry and not as 'loving' as he had been if he catches her again. Melissa knows... she'll die brutally and without a trace if she doesn't escape right now.
"Melissa! DEAR! Can we please NOT do this today! Just come back RIGHT NOW and I won't be FORCED to HURT YOU and do something we'll both REGRET!" Although he was trying to sound sweet, his voice was filled with anger and obvious rage.
'Keep running,' Melissa told herself, 'find the next door, kick it down, and free yourself.'
"Um, Nik?" Melissa tried her best to sound as sweet as possible, "Can I see the outside?"
"Why would you want to do that?" Jacob was lying next to her on the bed, snuggled up to her side, and burying his face in her neck while inhaling her 'intoxicating' scent. He sighed as he twirled her hair around his finger.
"I just want to enjoy the lovely weather with you," she lied through with a voice like sugar.
"Well... I guess," he agreed, "you have been behaving recently and you could use some sun." His eyes wandered to her overly pale skin and sickly complexion.
"Thank you," Melissa sighed happily as he undid the bonds holding her wrists. Then he set his knife down on the nightstand and opened the door to the otherwise inaccessible room. Melissa tried not to show her joviality so as to not draw suspicion to her plan. She calmly exited the room and when Jacob turned around to close the door, she made a mad dash away from the murderer. Thus landing in the situation she is in now.
Melissa looked ahead in the corridor and spotted a clear glass door that looked out into the dark, start-spotted night. She knew she had to hurry, for she could practically hear Jacob's heavy breathing behind her. 'Got to get out,' she thought desperately to herself.
"HONEY! GET BACK HERE RIGHT NOW!!!" Jacob practically roared behind her somewhere. Melissa was too focused on grabbing the hefty metal lamp next to the door. With a quick swing of her arms, Melissa smashed the door to dangerous tiny shards and jumped through the gap. She took a tumble onto the ground beneath her. The slight fall was enough to knock the air out of the girl. Melissa didn't have time to recover from the fall, however, as she spotted Jacob's green eyes shining with anger at the end of the corridor she had just escaped.
A scream escaped her lips as she scrambled to her feet and took off running towards the street. 'Just need to find a police officer!' Melissa's thoughts were frantic as she ran. She took all sorts of twists and turns through the streets only to hit a dead end.
"Finally, you've stopped, dear," that once sweet and suave voice breathed right down Melissa's neck. A blood-curdling scream erupted from deep within her vocal chamber. Turning around quickly, Melissa's red eyes were met with a terrifying sight. Jacob stood there gripping a knife so hard his knuckles were white and covered in thick, dripping blood.
"Look at what you made me do, dear," his voice was laced with toxic anger, "I had to kill a nice couple who saw you and me running through the streets."
"Y-You didn't..." tears rolled down Melissa's face at the thought of two more innocent people dying because of her.
"You escaped," Jacob spat, "You don't love me. You never could and you never will." Jacob launched himself at the defenseless girl, knife raised. The knife sunk deeply into the soft flesh of her stomach and sliced its way through her easily. Jacob glared angrily at Melissa as the life started to drain from her eyes and her snow white hair got stained red with the same substance that kept her alive.
"You will never leave me aga-" just before Jacob could finish, a gunshot rang out in the air, silencing him permanently. The corpse that had once been the Bloody Bachelor fell on top of the dying albino, driving the knife even deeper.
"Ms. Rose!" The blue-eyed detective, Toby, and Henry ran towards the dying woman, pushing the cadaver off of her and wrenching the knife from her gut. A small smile graced Melissa's pale lips as her blood-starved brain registered her saviors.
"Stay with us, love," Henry stated as he tried to stop the hemorrhaging.
"He... he's dead... thank you..." Melissa's now dull red eyes leaked tears as she drew her final breath into her pale lips. The final drops of blood pooled out of her body and around the now dead woman. Anyone looking on the scene from afar would say there was a sort of sick beauty to it. Melissa's once snow-colored hair fanned out around her, died a shade of red with her own blood, while her lifeless red eyes almost glowed amongst the gore.
Truly, a lovely murder.
