Thursday

•Niall's POV•

As soon as I entered my Homeroom class, the first thing I heard was,

"Why've you got on that horrendous hat?"

"Shut up Josh." I replied, slamming my books onto my desk and sliding into the seat.

"No, I'm serious man. You look like the paper boys from Newsies!" Josh chuckled. I punched him on the arm playfully.

"Hey, at least this hat has gotten more attention then you have. Newsies was a great show." I said defensively.

We joked around for a bit until someone came over the intercom.

"All students please pay attention to the news report this morning, I repeat, all attention should be on the news. Class should be silent."

Our tv turns on the our school news, where a new news anchor was reporting today.

"As most of you have heard, a student of ours has recently commit suicide. At the moment, two families are missing their children and are not sure what child is dead. The body was too beaten to recognise. The family of Holly Stakpole and another male student who prefers not to be mentioned are in grieving. After not making contact with any friends or family for a full day, Holly's mom and sister went looking on the streets. They found a lifeless body on the bottom of a trench and immediately told the authorities. Rumors will be put to rest when we find more information. If you have heard anything that was not mentioned, please visit the office. Thank you, and keep these two families in your prayers."

A student had commit suicide? Gladly, I didn't have any friends who were suicidal...

'Wait'

"What?" Josh replied. I guess I said that out loud. But none of that mattered now. I pulled out my phone and discretely texted H to make sure she was okay.

Me: Hey H, have you heard the news? Really sad right? Glad you would never do that, right?

I tapped my foot impatiently, waiting for a reply. None.

I went through the the rest of the day like that, checking my phone between periods. Still no reply.

By lunch time, I was so sick I couldn't even eat. My friends kept asking if I was okay, saying my actions were out of character. They weren't wrong, I was completely distracted. The only thing on my mind was H, alive and breathing. I don't think I'd accept any other result. I prayed that this would be my lucky day, that her name wasn't Holly, that the other family missing a child would be okay too.

When I got home, I couldn't take it anymore. I threw up.

(A/n: I know what comes next and I'm still tense lol)
