Aphmau's Pov
The last few days were extremely lonely. I have been watching over him, as usual, but he has never called out to me. Im so confused of what's going on, it's like I never existed. I am currently standing near a dumpster, watching him have a deep conversation with his male friend. I stare like I use to until Garroth catches sight of me. I see his eyes light up as he tells his friend to hold on. He begins to walk toward me................... but I step back.....
Garroth's Pov
She steps back as I try to make my way toward her. My heart sinks as she gave me the emotionless look I use to know.
"Aphmau...?" I mummble, trying to walk toward her.
She holds out her hand for me to stop, in which I do so.
Sadness washes over my face as she takes another step back. We stay silent for a while until she speaks.
"You shouldn't expect someone to return when it wasn't them who left..." she said with no expression.
"B-but I didn't leave." I muttered back.
"You left that day we returned to your house. For days you have acted like I never existed! And you know something... I think it should return to how it was before." She said with a hint of anger.
"W-what?! No please!!!" I pleaded, running toward her.
She froze at my sudden action. I wrapped my arms around her, hugging her to my chest. She didn't hug me back, just stood still. An idea popped into my head as an evil smirk found it's way to my face. I pinched the edge of her hood and yanked it down. I pulled back, laying my eyes upon her. She had hazel brown eyes that glittered her personality. The sun danced along her flawless, tan skin. Her raven hair was the slightest bit wavy and fluffed bangs hiding ger right eye. I blushed brightly at her appearance. Only a second after my action, she yanked her hood back up. I surge of pain shot through my face, showing me that she slapped me. I glanced back at her, in shock. She was staring down, slowly backing up. Small droplets fell from her face and onto the concrete.
"I made a promise..." she barely whispered as more tears flooded.
"W-what?" I muttered, rubbing the red area of my cheek.
She sniffled and ran past me, erupting into sobs. I quickly ran after her, wanting to comfort her the best I could. Adrenaline fueled my sprints as I was gaining on her. For the first time... I caught her. I ran up behind her, wrapping my arms around the front of her shoulders. I pulled back, stopping her sudden run. She collapsed onto the floor, sobbing into her hands. I walked in front of her, bending down to her level. Small puddles formed on the concrete directly under her face. I wrapped my arms around her, once again, as she sobbed even louder. I felt her claws dig into my back as she hugged me tight. She burried her face into my chest as she continued to bawl. A few minutes later, her cries slowly died down into silent sniffles. Her grip loosened as she caught her breath again.
"Im so sorry..." she whispered into my chest.
"You have nothing to be sorry for." I replied with the calmest voice I could make.
It seemed that if I talk in any way harsh, she would break like a porcelain doll. She pulled from my grip and stared at the ground. I kept my eyes locked on her face.
"I made a promise to your parents..." She muttered, hesitantly.
"W-what?" I swallowed the tears that loomed in my throat.
"W-when they were in the hospital... I was there. I promised them I would look after you... no matter what. I promised I would keep you safe from anything that broke your heart or hurt you in anyway. B-but I failed." She said as tears streamed down her face.
"No you didn't..." I replied.
"W-what do you mean?" She looked up at me with hopeful eyes.
I pulled her hood down again to reveal her red, tear stained face. She flinched at my action but stayed still. I gave a sincere smile and wiped ger damp face with my sleeve.
"You're really beautiful, Aphmau. Why do you hide it?" I said, meaning to only think it.
"I---Uh..." She blushed madly, causing my face to burn red also.
"Im so sorry... I just... Uh... I just thought that----"
