Garroth's Pov
I few months past after that day. I haven't seen her since then either. Levin said she ran away and hasn't come back. I was a nervous wreck. She was my stress relief. Im so scared, stressed, angry, whatever you wanna call it! I haven't been breathing right lately and it's starting to scare Zane.

"SHUT UP ZANE! I KNOW I HAVEN'T BEEN RIGHT OKAY?! JUST LEAVE ME ALONE. I CAN FEND FOR MYSELF!" I snapped at him while we were in our living room."WILL YOU JUST GO TO THE HOSPITAL ALREADY?! YOU HAD A PANIC ATTACK A WEEK AGO. COME ON!" He snapped back.
I shot him a death glare and stormed out of the house and into the cold night. I stared at the ground, stressing over the recent activities that have occurred. I swallowed the lump in my throat and looked up at the unfamiliar buildings. I stopped walking and glanced around the old, run down streets.
"Where am I...?" I whispered, as if I was in a room filled with strangers.
"You're in Layerwood." A harsh voice shot through the dark night.
I spun around to see a 3 men with knives, smirking devilishly at me. I gulped and slowly began to back up, only to be haulted by a harsh shove. I fell to the floor onto my stomache. I quickly tried to stand only to earn a heavy, steel-toed, kick to my rips. I coughed heavily as I skit a few feet. I groaned at the unbearable pain as I saw the 4 men walking toward me. Soon after a shadow casted over me. I weakly rolled over a little to look behind me. I saw the hooded girl standing over me, staring at the men. At that moment... all of my stress and emotions just... melted away. The men stopped in unison and went wide eyed at her presence. She stayed emotionless as her hood swayed with the wind, her hair getting caught in the currents. The silence loomed us for moments until she, surprisingly, spoke.
"Leave..." She stated toward the men.
"A... this is our fight. Why do you care?" The man in the steel-toed boots growled.
"You know exactly why..." Her voice rose in the slightest.
"Go home, A. Im not done here. You should leave now or else." He gulped at his threat as if he was a mouse that threatened a cobra.
"Don't forget about what im capable of, Ross." She hissed, her face boiled in anger.
He stumbled back, grabbing the attention of his companions.
"Sorry A. We're leaving..." He quickly stated before disappearing into the alleyway.
Her attention soon flowed into her normal, emotionless gaze. I stared up at her shadowed face as the pain slowly rushed to my head. I groaned loudly as I held my ribs. I opened my clenched eyes to see an opened hand a few inches away. I hesitantly grabbed her hand as she hoisted my to my feet. I yelped in pain as I twisted my body, causing my pain to increase. I felt the girl grab my arm and place it over her shoulder. I weakly put my weight on her as she began to walk toward my house. I tried to spark a conversation.
"So... A right?" I mummbled quietly.
Silence.
"How did you know I was there?" I questioned her again.
Silence.
"Why do you ignore my questions?" I broke my gaze from her face and looked down in disappointment.
"It's for your own good." She replied in a soft voice.
"So she does speak huh?" I chuckled lightly, but was soon hushed by my pained ribs.
"Im a human too." She spoke clearly, not messing up on any words.
Silence loomed over us once again. About halfway home, I began to feel... safe.
"Thank you." I muttered to her.
I felt her grip tighten on my arm, showing me she was shocked.
"For what?" She relied.
"For saving me. For protecting me and watching over me. I've noticed you ever since I was 14. (Hes 18 right now btw). I notice how whenever im having problems, they disappear. You think I dont know its you? Every time I see you, I know im gonna be okay. So... Thank you. For being here." I softly stated as her head lowered.
"You're welcome... Garroth." Her voice cracked slightly.
"Are you okay?" I tried to level my gaze with hers, but the pain thought differently.
Silence.
I didn't want to bug her about so we stayed silent for the rest of the walk. As I caught sight of my house, I could see Zane pacing back and forth on the front porch. Once his gaze landed on me he rushed toward us. As he saw who was helping me, he stopped in his tracks. She stopped in a panick, causing a jolt of pain to surg my ribs again. Her panicked action showed me she was afraid of him.
"Zane. Im fine. I just need to rest. My side hurts." I explained to him as his gaze broke from 'A'.
He nodded quickly and stepped aside, letting us both walk toward my room. She slowly helped me with each step of the stairs that led to my room. Her grip on me disappeared as I sat on my bed. She walked to the furthest wall and stared at the ground in deep thought.
"Hey A...?" I choked the words out, breaking her from her thoughts.
She let out a hum in response.
"Can we... Talk like this more...? I don't want you to be afraid like you were." I said as I met her gaze.
"I wasn't afraid Garroth." She said with a chuckle.
"Then why hide...?" I asked only a second after.
She paused for a second.
"The only thing im afraid of is me. I-...." She stopped speaking and glared at the floor.
"A...?" I muttered lightly.
"I shouldn't talk about. You shouldn't even know what they call me. You shouldn't know I even speak. This wasn't planned!" She hissed as she angrily walked toward my window.
"W-wait!!! Don't go!!!" I frantically tried to make her stay.
"Im letting you explain." She said sternly and she hopped out the window, swiftly closing it behind her before disappearing into the shadows once again.
I was confused by her words. Soon after Zane came rushing in, confusion lacing his eyes.
"SO?!?!?! EXPLAIN!" He asked, jumping up and down like a little kid.
I sighed. Damn you A...
