SONG OF THE CHAPTER: ONE CALL AWAY - CHARLIE PUTH
CHAPTER ONE
DEYVN

"Devyn, you aren't helping me." Shawn sighed, running his hand through his messy hair. I simply shrugged after taking a bite of my chocolate chip muffin, "well sorry, I don't want my brother to leave me again."

"I'm not leaving forever, just a couple of days." Shawn smiled sympathetically. "Still feels like forever." I mumbled.

No matter how many times Shawn leaves it's always the same, I end up crying. I mean why wouldn't I, he's my other half, my best friend. He hated leaving me, most importantly he hates seeing my cry. But I couldn't help it, I was an emotional person.

I didn't bother helping Shawn anymore, I just sat in silence eating my muffin. As much as Shawn claimed he hated leaving me, it sure looked like he was ready to leave me, by the way he was packing.

"I'm sorry." I mumbled, hugging Shawn's waist with my fairly small arms. "There's nothing to be sorry about." Shawn turned around hugging me back as he slightly lifted me off the ground. I took advantage of that and wrapped my small legs around his waist and kissed his cheek. He smiled.

"At least while I'm gone, you'll have mom and dad." Shawn chuckled, I laughed at him, "Very funny, they're leaving the day after you."

"Now, mister, you have a flight to catch soon and you're not finished packing chop chop." I snap, jumping out of Shawn's grasp. He laughed at my "demand" and nodded saluting me. I picked some of the clothes from that floor that I had thrown out of his suitcases earlier and folded them again, putting them in his suitcase. Taking bites from my chocolate muffin, here and there.

"Remember, if you ever need anything, I'm only one call away." Shawn smiled, kissing my forehead.

I nodded and smiled as the tears rolled down my cheek, "Now get outta here before I cry even more."

"I love you!" Shawn smiled.

"I love you more, bubba!" I smiled before shooing him off as they just announced his plane has arrived.

Then he was gone, but he made sure he didn't leave without looking back at me. Small tears escaped his big brown eyes.

Our parents had the first goodbye, I always got the last. I smiled weakly at my mom and dad before we exited the airport, going back to our car.

But I really like it, it was cuteee.

This is only the first chapter, I promise it'll get better as we continue throughout this whole book.
