Ellie's POVI entered my room and slammed the door as hard as I can. I slumped against the door. This day could not get any worse. Maya and I got into detention because we were tardy for our Geometry class and I got home late.
And to make matters worse, Grizelda is still yapping on about how much in trouble I am that I didn't prepare breakfast this morning with the result of Winnie and Minnie being almost late for school and didn't get to attend the usual morning meetings of the popular clique.
"You will have extra chores tomorrow for what happened to my precious daughters this morning!" Grizelda, my stepmom, shouted.
What?! I opened my door and ran back again downstairs to where my stepmom is talking.
"What?!" I voiced out loud, "But I have to go to the ball tomorrow to clean and serve so I could have a discount on my tuition fee!"
"I don't care!" Grizelda shouted back, "That's your punishment for almost destroying all the efforts your sisters exerted just to get in the popular clique."
"But—" they are not my sisters!
"No buts." Grizelda interrupted, "Go to your room and freshen up. Then cook dinner. It must be ready before 6:30."
I grumbled a 'yes, ma'am' before walking back to my room, dejected.
My step sisters are part of the popular clique because they are so 'pretty' and 'too fabulous' not to be in the popular clique. Talk about narcissistic people. Sigh. I mean, they're very pretty, I'll give them that.
They have straight blonde hair that they straighten every day because they don't like having curls. They think that curls are so annoying and out of style. I have feeling they were insulting my hair.
But the thing about them is that they are as mean as their mother. They boss me around like their mom, they treat me like how their mom treats me, heck they even talk to me the way their mom talks to me. It's like they idolize their mom or something. And they are also mean to other students in school. It's like being mean is their second nature. I can understand where they come from because as they say, like mother like daughter. But Minnie is still a tad bit nicer than Winnie.
I enterd my almost shoe boxed size bedroom and slammed the door close. I threw myself on my comfortable bed with a groan. Why is my life so miserable? If I don't get to clean and serve at the ball tomorrow, I'm gonna pay a big amount for my tuition fee. Possibly, even my whole salary from working in the cafe. I looked at the clock to see it's already 6:24 PM. Sigh.
I stood up and changed into my more comfortable house clothes befoe opening my door and walking down the stairs to cook dinner.
At last! I finished cooking Wicked Witch of the West and her ugly witches-in-training's dinner and it's time for to retire to my room until they called for me to clean the table and cook the dishes and order me to do extra chores. Sometimes, they give me a lot of extra chores that I have no time to do my homework. Talk about evil stepmothers.
I place the dinner in a bowl and went to the dining room to place it on the dining table. I placed the glasses in front of each chair and filled them with juice. I placed another glass beside the glass full of juice and filled them up with water. Fancy, I know.
