It was almost July, and Shaun and Jessicamae had been hanging out shooting hoops at the park. Girls have walked by them multiple times and Shaun has been distracted as they walk by. Jessicamae knows what he's thinking. She has the ball and hits him in the chest yelling "Hey LOVERBOY!" with a laugh following it, he takes the all and runs in for a lay-in. Jessicamae was suprised.
"HEY JESSYMAE, you'd do the same thing there." He yelled back at her.
She just smiled. He was probably right though.
They walked back to Jessicamae's house. They ate and hung out until Shauns mom called and told him he needed to be home. Shaun left the house. Jess went upstairs and picked out some comfortable clothes then went to the bathroom and showered. Her music was on so loud she didn't even her her dad come home. Her dad loved the fact that she and Shaun were bestfriends, he likes shaun as a kid. he always says to her when she's not hanging out with him "Where's mr.loverboy?" He called him that too because he believes he's in love with jess.
she walked down to see her dad on the phone talking to someone, she walked over to the other phone, and saw it was Shauns caller ID, It must bee shauns dad. her dad said Give me a sec to the person on the phone, " Hey baby doll. Is that Shauns jersey?" purposly saying it into the phone.
"Yeah, it is." Jess walkes to the fridge and her dad tells her he's going to cook dinner soon, she nods and grabs a water bottle. and goes upstars to sit on her bed lisen to music and talk to Shaun, *Video Call*

Hey guess what? Shaun sounded excited.
well there's a few things I need to tell you. I'll tell you the other one in a sec.
OKay, Tell me the first thing.
We're coming over for dinner!
OH MY GOSH YAY.
Jess and Shaun usually go to each others houses to eat all the time, just because Jess and her dad are best friends with Shauns parents. and It's really fun to see how they act together. they've been doing it ever since they were babys. as they were growing up Jess and Shaun always ate the fastest so they could hurry into shauns room and play. or the other way around depending on whose house they were in.
When shaun come over he came first, so he could help, but her dad knew all he wanted to do was hang out with jess.
They ate dinner, they didn't eat so fast, but their parents weren't done by the time they were so they could o to her room and hang out.
OKAY SHAUN. what was the other thing you wanted to tell me.
well when we were playing in the park a girl game me her number, and I called her and she asked me out on a date. and I said yes.
OH MY GOSH SHAUN I'M SO HAPPY!!!
The night faded, and shaun and his mom and dad went home. but once he got there he went to his room and craweld into his bed with his laptop, and started to talk to Jess. their conversations could go on all night\morning. they both fianlly went to sleep around 5:30 am the time there parents got up and went to work.
Jess woke up around 1:30pm. walked down stairs ate some food, grabbed a phone when up stairs and tried calling Shaun. No answer he's probably still asleep. she left a message saying to call her when he got this if she didn't answer she was in the shower.
after she hung up she got into the shower. when she got out she heard a knock at her door.
"Umm Hi"
" HII, We're your new neighbors!!"
"OH that's wonderful!" with a little bit of sacrasim in her tone.
" do you know who lives a block down from this house? we tried knocking but no one answered"
" Oh yeah, Umm his parents are at work, and he's probably still slepping. but uh yeah his name's Shaun."
Oh thank you we'll try to intoduce ourselfs later, Nice meeting you umm"
"Jessicamae, my friends call me jessica." lying to those people was a good thing. I didn't want them to know they called me jess, it made no difference but it was just a weird feeling.
the phone rang about 2:15.Shaun.
"Hey"
"Hey, did you knock at my door?"
"nope, some new neighbors tried. becareful they're going to try again. so if you're home alone dont answer it. You can let your parents meet them tho. haha"
" Okay, so I'm going to shower and then are we on for the park, shooting hoops?"
"Yes, definatly."
"Okay, just know after we're done i have a date with sopie. So I can walk you hope we just can't hang."
"Right got it. Ehh Sopie. i don't like the sound of that. Hahah See you in a few."
On the way to the park. we talked about the new neighbors. and how they were going to be like. we didn't really like the sound of them. We started playing hoops, and same thing every time we play people pass by. This time a group of of guys walked by, and they stopped and looked at me. They were all really cute, Shaun saw them looking at me. he ignored them and yelled "JESSYMAE"
"Oh shit."
I hesitated missed the shot and bounced off the back board toward the guys. One boy bounced the ball and passed it to me. He seemed like the leader, and the asshole of the group, but a sweet shyish boy come up to me," Hey you play pretty well."
"Yeah I've been playing for as long as I remember."
He was really cute, and nice.
"Maybe we can hang out and shoot sometime."
they walked away. I walked back to Shaun. He had a grin on his face, I knew something was going to come out his mouth.
"Oh shit, Jess there was a boy hitting on you. did you see it, Jessy?"
"YES, Shaun be quite besides, like he'll ever be into me."
" OKay lets go before you get hit on agian, and I have to stand there and watch him pull you in with the cheesy-ist pick up lines, and I'm over there puking in my mouth."
"Oh be quite, How do you think I felt when you were Drooooling over ehhh sophie."
Shaun was talking about how he ws going to be the best on the team when school starts, Jess was thinking about playing too, since she has. and she's actually been the best.
Shaun and Jessy got to her doorstep, shaun hugged her and said bye, and walked home.
