FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 14TH, 2007

You ever wonder what life would be like if everything you thought you knew your entire life, turned out to be a lie? I wonder that all of the time.

What if No No and Nut were not really my friends, but forced to hang out with me for reasons that are beyond my control? What if my parents are not really my parents? Is my little sister an alien?

I THINK ABOUT SHIT LIKE THAT.

“An alien,” Mouse asked, looking at me like I was a freak. We have been riding the bus home together for the last few days now. “You think that your little sister is an alien.”

“Yes,” I said in the most serious tone I could muster, “and she was sent here to make sure that my life is a living hell. Oh and to use up all the hot water before I take a shower in the morning.”

“Well,” he said with a smile, acting like he was thinking my reasoning over. “I suppose it is not the craziest idea I have ever heard.”

“No that was yesterday’s subject,” i said with a snorted type laugh. For whatever reason it was, Mouse really made me feel nerdier then I thought I was to begin with.

“Ah right,” he said, pushing his overgrown red hair out of his face. He was not the best looking boy on the planet, but he sure kew how to make me laugh. “You mean when you suggested that we tell the F.B.I that Cruz is really on the most wanted list, but he had face surgery.”

“I swear to you it will work,” I said with another laugh. He sure was good at this. “That way I would stop having all of these crazy feelings about him and I can talk to No No again.”

“I think you are crazy,” he said softly, his voice turning serious again. “You are way to good for that loser anyways.”

Over the past few days, though I don’t know the reason, I had kind of told Mouse everything about my situation. It was not like I expected him to tell the entire world what was going on in my life. He seemed to make me do a lot of things that I would not normally do.

“Oh right,” I laughed sarcastically. “I am so much better then Cruz, the most popular guy in the world to ever have spoken to me?”

“Yeah,” he responded with a nervous smile. “You are.”

SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 15TH 2007

Nut and No No both showed up on my door step this morning. I was not prepared...

“Can we come in,” No No asked. Her arms were crossed over her chest and she seemed as if she was looking past me, not at me. It was hard to tell for sure though, since her eyes were hidden behind big dark sunglasses. It was not even sunny out.

“Sure,” I said hesitantly. I pulled the door all the way open and they both stepped in.

Neither one of them acted like strangers once they had entered. They both made their way to the living room and plopped down on the couch. Nut even put his feet up on the coffee table, which pisses my mother off, but luckily, she is not here.

“So what’s up?” I asked them both as I sat down on the chair that was across from the couch they were sitting on. I knew it was a stupid question, but I asked it anyways.

“What’s up,” No No asked with anger jumping from her voice. She shot a glance over to nut and repeated my question. “So what’s up?”

“You have kind of been weird lately B.” Nut said with a sad expression on his face. It broke my heart to see him that way. He was my best friend, beyond No No, beyond the world, and I was treating him like complete shit.

“I am just having some personal problems,” I said, exaggerating on the world personal. I was not sure what they would make of that, but it was the best answer I had. Though it seemed very close ended, it was also the truth. I was having tons of personal issues.

“Is it with that creepy boy I keep seeing you with at school?” No No asked, uncrossing her arms and getting a little more comfortable?

Mouse? Was she talking about Mouse? He was not creepy, he was just different .... Okay, so he was a little creepy, but only by the way he looks. The person behind that face is a pretty awesome one, if I do say so myself.

“Mouse?” I asked her, shaking my head. “He is not a problem. He is just a new friend that I made on the bus. He is really cool, you guys should meet him.”

Talking about Mouse made me forget that there was a problem here that we were trying to resolve. Something about that boy gets me excited even when he is not around. That made me smile to myself. He was kind of a god send in this time when I needed him most.

“He is a creepy problem,” No No said with a disgusted look on her face. “People are talking about you because of him.”

People were talking about me? About me and Mouse?

“He is not creepy,” I blurted out in a firm voice. I was kind of shocked that I had such a tone in me. “He is just different, and there is nothing wrong with being different. People talk about you hanging out with Nut and Me, but you still do it anyways.”

“Thats because,” she paused, trying to think of an argument. “That’s because I have made it my life’s mission to make the both of you cool. I am failing, that is for sure, but I still try.”

I could see the smile in her eyes when she spoke. No No was getting back to her old self again and for a moment, I felt completely relaxed, like nothing was wrong. It’s not like I had kissed her boyfriend and caused him to break up with her because he thinks that he is in love with me. No its not like that is something that would ever happen.

“So we are good,” Nut asked me with a concerned look on his face. “Everything can go back to the way things were before?”

“We are better then good, we are great.” I said with a forced smile on my face. I looked away from Nut slightly. If anyone would be able to tell that I was faking it, it would be him. “Well, except, I really want you both to meet Mouse. I think I am his only friend, and he is really awesome.”

“Cool,” Nut said with a smile. I had missed his smile so. It was then that I remembered who it was that I loved. I did not love Cruz, I loved Nut.   I THINK.

“Gross,” No No added in, “but whatever. I guess we can meet your creepy friend.”
