Chapter 8: Family Issues

Lucy POV (still omfg)

So the 'coming over to eachother's house' kinda thing became some sort of tradition for each of us. Once a week, we would go to eachother's house. On top of that, he comes to the bar basically everyday. I have a lot of fun with Natsu, more than I've ever had with Sting. honestly. Natsu is just fun to be around. Today, it was my turn to go to his house. I wonder what we're gonna do today! I start walking towards his house-- which is surprisingly not very far! He still lives with his parents. He may have physically aged, but is still a child at heart XD. As I near his house, I start to hear some yells.

"DAMMIT, IGNEEL, NOT NOW!"

"Grandine, please! Just listen!"

"IF YOU GUYS DON'T MAKE UP, THEN DON'T EXPECT ME TO BE HOME FOR DINNER!"

"Natsu Dragneel, get back here young man, or yo-"

Then I heard a door slam, and saw an obviously frustrated Natsu walk out. He looked up, and realized I was there.

"Oh, hey, Luce. I'm guessing you heard all that." He said avoiding my gaze. 

"How about we both come to my place, and you can talk it over with me?" I proposed with a soft smile. "Yeah... that sounds nice."

We both headed to my house, and sat Natsu down. I came back with two cups of green tea, to try and help soothe Natsu a bit.

"So, Natsu. You wanna tell me what happened?"

Natsu POV

I decided that it would be okay if Luce new. I mean, she's like my bestest friend in the world! I could totally trust her with my life, so, why couldn't I trust her with this?

"O-okay.It all started when my parents started fighting. My whole family new that Pa was always a huge flirt, even in highschool. That's when my parents met. Igneel was always one of those guys that were always after any girl they laid eyes on. But Ma, she didn't care. She loved Igneel with all her heart. She never thought of him flirting with other women as much. It was like a regular thing with them. Whenever he would flirt, she would playfully punch his arm and laugh it off. But one night, he'd taken it too far. After a day of shopping, me, my sister Wendy, and Ma got home to find Igneel making out with a close friend of Ma's. That's the worst part. Having been betrayed by two of the people you trust most in the world. That makes me so angry. From when you say those two simple words, 'I do.' at your wedding, you're supposed keep your promise that you made that day to stick by each other's side, no matter what happens. To unconditionally love and trust that other person for the rest of your life. But no, Igneel broke it. In front of our very eyes. That's what hurts the most. Wendy's not taking it very well, either. I just want our family to be the way it was before, Luce." 

I couldn't take it anymore. I pulled Luce into a hug, and started to cry on her shoulder. I just let it all out. 

Lucy POV

"Shh, it's okay. Just cry it all out." I comforted him. I hated seeing Natsu like this. Broken and sad, contrasting his usual cheery and happy-go-lucky mood. He doesn't deserve to feel like this. He's always been so welcoming and kind. I guess it's my turn to return the favour. Natsu just seemed tired. I walk him over to my bed, and lay him down. I get up, but I'm stopped by two strong arms.

"N-no... Don't leave meh..." Natsu said sleepily.

"Ugh, fine." Then, I climbed into bed with him. He wrapped his arms around me, and fell asleep. At this point, I was blushing a shade that could rival the colour of Erza's hair. We were so close! Well, might as well get some sleep. I'm obviously not going anywhere too soon.
