Chapter 5: Unexpected Visits

"Hey, Luce, wanna exchange phone numbers?" he said with his trademark grin.

I sat there still trying to process what had just happened, until I subconsciously managed to mutter

"Sure."

Lucy's POV (Again ;3;)

"Hey, Luce, since we're *ahem* friends now, would you mind if I showed up at your place tomorrow? Since it'll be a Saturday tomorrow, I doubt you'd be working. Meet me here in front for the bar at 7:00 AM sharp tomorrow, alright? I'll call you tonight. Ok, bye!"

Those were the very last words I heard the pinkette say before he sped out the door.

Sure, he was right about my work schedule and all, but we'd only met a week ago. I swear, this guy is so open to everything, he would straight up invite a serial killer into his own home. Well, I could always ditch him and stay home. Lol, no. I already know how it feels to be stood up *^*. Guess I have no choice after all. I better get home and clean my- already spotless- apartment for tomorrow.

~Time skip to the next day~

I woke up after having an absolutely horrifying nightmare. It was a flashback to my mother's death. She'd gotten a horrible illness that was very rare at the time. I remember sitting by her side in the hospital, and the next moment, tears falling down my face as I visit her grave. I don't know why I remember this so vividly- it's not really something I'd like to. It just all felt so real. Fresh tears were still evident in my own eyes at this moment. Now's not really the time to worry about this. Time to get ready for Nat- HOLY CRAP IT'S ALREADY 7:14! I'M LATEEE. CRAP CRAP CRAP HE PROBABLY THOUGHT I DITCHED HIM!

I took a quick shower, changed, and brushed my teeth. I was about to head out the door when-

CRASH!

"Ow!"

BANG!

"DAMMIT!"

CLINK!

"Fu-"

-Could be heard from literally miles away. I grabbed my conveniently placed metal bat and start moving towards the sound, acting extremely cautious if it happened to be some sort of burglar or something. As I creeped out of my bedroom, I saw nothing and thought my ears were playing tricks on me (A/N So cliche omg). I was about to head upstairs but obviously someone else had other plans.

"Boo."

Of course, me being the paranoid idiot I was, I turned around and gave a good swing of my trusty old bat towards the voice. Then I heard that oh- so familiar voice,

"FUCK! Damn, Luce, you swing hard for a girl."

And I realized that it was- of course- Natsu. I felt irritated yet relieved at the same time to know it wasn't some creepy pedo in my apartment.
