"Hayli Paratrent?"
"Yes that's me." I came out of my hiding place starting to feel hugely childish, plus it was getting boring running from everyone and plus I swear I recognised his voice. I dragged my body through the shrubbery, catching my foot on a root I toppled over landing with a splat. Lifting my head up slightly a pair of feet in two very expensive trainers appeared in front of me, I slowly worked my way up to his face finally realising who it was. Shit! No this can't be happening, I jumped to my feet brushing myself down and pulling out twigs from my tangled hair. This is my worst nightmare, a reality now.
"Are you alright?" He held out his hand and placed it on my shoulder, oh my daze! I melted under his touch, staring mouth wide open I wondered how many girls would kill for this moment with him? I had a pretty good guess. Too caught up in my daydream I forgot to reply, words seeming incapable to form. "Hayli are you sure you're alright?" Aww he was concerned for me how sweet, but I was just staring at him showing no sign of how special I felt inside.
"Oh, yeah I'm fine, thanks." I stuttered.
"Seriously? You seem a bit dazed to me." Crap he had noticed the way I had been staring.
I lied to get myself out of too much humiliation, "yeh actually I think I hit my head." It sounded like a reasonable lie to me, score I'm off the hook. His hand was still on my shoulder, but he slowly lowered it down to my waist, what's going on here?
"Lean against me, it might make you feel more stable." Oh so that's what was going on, I thought he was pulling a move on me. I should know better he's too much of a gentleman to take advantage of someone in my state, and if he did it would never be on me. I took advantage of his kindness and leaned into his body almost cuddling him, I hope he didn't find it too weird. He led the way to a park bench and sat me down, he removed his arm from my waist and placed them onto his lap. "Couldn't you think of anywhere better to hide?" He asked smirking.
"Yes" I said defensively, " but by hiding somewhere obvious I'm less likely to be found, everyone will think I've gone to hide somewhere secret, so instead I chose the park bush." I was blushing at my confession and it was clear he'd noticed.
"I suppose I can see the logic in that, so what are you hiding from exactly?" He didn't know, oh man that's means I have to tell him, if he wasn't put off me yet he would be in a minute.
"Um, nothing" I couldn't bring myself to admit it, but there was no way he was going to believe I was hiding for the sake of it.
"C'mon you can tell me." He was right I could but I just didn't want to. Eurgh I was going to have to tell the truth.
" If I do you'll think I'm an idiot."
"Don't worry about that I already do." Geez seriously, did he just say that to my face, what a jerk. I screwed my face up unimpressed by his piggish behaviour.
"I didn't mean it like that." It was too late though, I was already walking away through the trees and to my house hoping that no-one was in. I heard foot steps behind me, was he seriously following me, about five minutes ago I would have dreamed for that to happen, but that was five minutes ago, now all I wanted him to do was leave me alone to be an "idiot". The footsteps were getting closer, he just won't give up will he? That's it, I ran, he wouldn't follow me now. I looked back to check, a stupid idea. Whilst I was checking behind I ran into a tree. Falling back I felt someone catch me.
"Hayli, Hayli are you alright?" Damn it, it was him again.
"No I'm not."
"What's wrong, where does it hurt?" His voiced sounded genuinely caring but then it had beforehand and look how it ended.
"Don't worry I'm not in pain" that was a lie it hurt like hell but I needed to add a dramatic effect " I do have something wrong though, you want to know what that is?"
"Of course."
"YOU!" I screamed getting to my feet and leaving, it was fine until I got five metres away and stumbled resting myself against the tree. Again the sounds of footsteps followed, when would he get the picture? Before he could reach me I forced myself on and slowly I heard the footsteps stop altogether.
