She walked slowly, holding a couple small flowers along with an unlit candle. She laid the flowers down on the ground and sat down. She took out a box of matches, lit one, and lit the candle, the small orange flame the only source of light. She blew out the match and put it back in her pocket.
"How did this happen? I can't help but feel it's my fault. It's not, and I know it, but.. why'd this happen? Why did I let this happen?" She took a sharp breath in and a tear rolled down her cheek. "It happened right in front of me, and I couldn't stop it.. I-I'm sorry.. I should have done something, ANYTHING." She bowed her head down, her palms hitting the earth below her. Her short hair fell in front of her eyes as she clenched them shut, the tears seeping out of them. Her eyes slowly opened, blurred horrendously from the tears. She blinked them away and looked at the stone that was so delicately carved.

"I miss you.. we all do. I'll come visit you again soon" she hugged the stone in front of her, tears uncontrollably rolling down her face. She adjusted the flowers she layed down and turned the small paper wrapped around them upwards, making sure the writing was legible. She stared at it, reading it as if she hadn't written it.

Her lip quivered as she blew out the candle, letting the darkness take over as she stood up, leaving the candle and flowers there as she walked away.
