After my shift I hastily clean up and sped walked to the front of the store.

Looking around the almost empty store I find Bianca leaning over torwards a guy sitting at one of the tables.

She gave him a dazzling smile and I couldn't help but roll my eyes. Knowing her, she was never going to stop flirting with the customers. But this guy didn't look interested, which suprised the hell out of me. Bianca was a stunning beauty, and men tended to gaped at her. Hell, half the customers we got were men. Most of them young men who just wanted an excuse to see Bianca again. He seemed to be an exception.

I couldn't help but smile. The thought of Bianca having trouble seducing a guy was funny, but I had to admit that I was a little jealous. I had always envied Bianca. She was truly a sight to behold. Her body was slim, her eyes like blue diamonds, and she had a confidence that said she could take on the whole world.

She was the ideal woman, and one that any man would want. So it was more than shocking to see this guy turn her down so thoughtlessly. A fresh smile was brought to my lips. This one because I knew that nothing would stop Bianca from getting what she wanted. That once she set her sights on something, she wouldn't let it go. Especially if the object of her attention was a hot hunk like the one Bianca was talking to. He was a challenge that I knew she would gladly take on.
When the guy turned her down a second time, I knew she would enjoy conquering his thoughts.

After a while she started my way, walking with a defeated slump that I knew she didn't feel.

"Guys don't turn you down so often, huh?" I said aloud.

She slugged me playfully, but said. "It's always the good ones that do."

"So what are you gonna do? You think he's worth it?" I asked her.

He glanced back at the handsome guy, and turned back with a competitive look in her eye--along with something else I couldn't identify.

"Definitely."

The way she said it, paired with that unidentifiable look in her eye, made me wonder if maybe there's was something else besides her competitiveness that was pushing her towards this guy. Maybe, just maybe, there was something else there.

My thoughts didn't linger long enough on Bianca's suspicious behavior to figure out her motives. The alarm I had put on my phone once Bianca had told me the time of the date rang that torture was close.

Immediately, my thoughts flew into chaos. I started chewing on my bottom lip nervously.

"Bianca, when did you tell him we would meet again?"

I tried convincing myself that I was only asking because I wanted to clarify, but in reality I hoped she'd say something along the lines of, 'Date? What date?' My hopes were set pretty high though. Even I knew that.

She looked at me with a twinkle in her eye, the guy from earlier temporarily forgotten.

I waited as she took at the clock above me, and a moment before saying, "In about an hour."

My eyes widen in shock. "An hour?!"

She nodded her head like it was no big deal. As if she didn't know how long it took to get ready.
Then again, it probably didn't take her a whole lot of anything to look the way she did.

"Bianca that's not enough time." I wined.

She pulled me out the door of the small building, "Don't worry, I'll help you get ready."

A list of excuses rushed out of me as we walked towards her car. If we didn't carpool, and I knew how to call a taxi, I would've ran the other way. But as fate would have it, neither were true.

I struggled against her vice grip, "No, no, no Bianca. There's not enough time. I'm not ready, and I have nothing to w-"

"Shut up!" She turned around with a hard look that silencing me.

"You will wear the dress I picked out for you, and you will go meet that guy. No but's or if's. Got it?" She said, sounding more like a mother than a friend.

I scrambled to find an excuse. "How am I going to get your dress, huh?"

She smiled slyly. "Well, I had a feeling you would try and back out on me. So... I brought the dress."

Sh pulled me the rest of the way to her car and pulled out a beautiful blue satin dress that would never in a million years look good on me.

I met her giddy eyes with my own look of terror. How could I wear this? Why in the hell would she ever think I'd look good in this?

"I know what you're thinking, and stop it." She chastised.

"You've got nothing to be ashamed of. You are beautiful, so stop thinking this dress isn't meant for you."

"B-but Bian-" I began to argue.

"Nuh-uh-uh." She said, pushing the dress into my arms.

"Your going to go on that date." She stated, and I stare at her until she maked an irritated noise.

"Your going to have fun, and afterwards your going to go to his place and-" She began to get all suggestful so I cut her off with a half hearted glare.

"What?! I'm just looking out for a friend." She said innocently, but managed to get a laugh out of me.

Then I crossed my arms. "Friends don't hook you up with someone behind your back."

She just shrugged and pushed me into her car. When she let me go and shut the door I flipped her the finger. She just blew a kiss and slipped into the driver seat.

"Ready?" She grinned.

I snorted. "Um, no."

She wrinkled her nose, "Just don't make that disgusting noise in front of Mr. Hottie, okay?"

I shook my head, thinking that I would, just to get back at her. Then again, unlike Bianca, I probably wouldn't have the guts to.

We got to her place within ten minutes, leaving only a short fifty minutes to get ready. Perfect.

As soon as we got inside, Bianca was yelling orders like a Sargent who'd been in the military since birth. Lips locked shut, I did everything she told me to, and with fifteen minutes to spare I was ready.

I was more than amazed at how Bianca had managed to get me ready in less than forty minutes. And, I had to admit, I didn't look half as bad as I thought I would.

The curls that Bianca had done fell perfectly around my shoulders. I was surprised to see that she hadn't applied a lot of makeup. Actually, I thought as I looked at myself in the mirror, maybe not any at all besides the lipstick that colored my lips and mascara that thickened my eyelashes.

As I stepped back from the mirror, I saw that the dress actually looked okay on me. I couldn't help but smiled a little at this new and improved version of myself.

I was brought back to reality when Bianca cleared her throat with more effort than was necessary.

"Well, we've got to get you to your date. Like now."

Oh boy. I was not ready for this at all.
"Bianca..." I began.

"Don't." She held up her hand. "I won't let you run from this date."

She stepped forward and ran her hand through my curls and said, "You look beautiful, and for at least tonight, don't doubt it."

I took a deep breath and managed an, "Okay."

She smiled, "Alright then! Let's go get you some sexy ass tonight!"

I laughed, feeling my worry begin to fade and be replaced by giddiness. I think I might actually be looking forward to this date and the sexy man awaiting me.
