Things Start Happening

Eventually I had talked to the sheriff, whose name was Rick, and had completely dusted the scene. A full analysis was done by a guy named Steven, who looked at the tire tracks of the getaway vehicle and the possible escape routes. I thought that the people had most likely struck at night because this was Rosebleu avenue, the road notorious for its speed bumps. The people probably didn't live close or they would have walked, so that meant either they jumped onto a highway to go far away or jumped onto second street west to retreat to the main city. The person who did this was probably someone who knew that Lindsey, the girl who had been shot, so they would know when she was near a window to shoot her. Problem was, Lindsey was very popular, so it could be a jealous friend, an ex boyfriend or a nerd who hated her and everyone else's popular lifestyle. After asking Rick about the people she knew, we had narrowed it down to about 12 people, but there could always be someone we didn't expect. It was so weird, every time I saw her or heard the name lindsey, I had a sense of Deja voo. I broke this down for Rick very gently, who then forced me to promise to help him find who did this, and I promised.

First on our list, Brock Friedenberg, a football star who had been kicked out of college and a scholarship for beating a guy up. He now worked at a gas station, and had been committing tiny crimes since, probably because he knew his life was going no where. We met him at the coop station, immediately escorting him into the back room. Rick sat him stiffly into a steel chair while Steven took his fingerprints then went to work matching them. Me, being the Investigator/ Sherlock Holmes, was going to ask the questions and act as a lie detector. "Brock, do you know a young lady who goes by Lindsey Heiser?" I calmly stated, immediately seeing his face twitch at the mention of the name. "Ya, we were dating a couple months back, but I ended up cheating on her." Rick's face immediately begin to turn red "So you're the person who made my daughter stop going to school for two days, you little- "Woah guys, lets all calm down! No need to get angry already." I exclaimed, tired already by this interview. It was then that Steven walked up to me and showed me the prints, and they were no way near the same. "He's clean." Steven addressed Rick. "Okay, what is happening?" Brock asked with a complexed look on his face. "My daughter is dead, and I believe it's you." Rick steamed. We needed to finish this quickly. "Is there anyone you know who might have had something against Lindsey?" I asked. "You know what, I think I might." Brock told us where we were going.

Steven pulled his black car into the back alley of an abandoned cheese factory. "Is this the place Brock?" He just nodded his head. I slowly crept towards the door, with Rick and his handgun at the ready. The door creaked as it was pushed open, making me cringe. Brock had said that this guy was a professional druggy with an empire of bouncers and ex military at his side. If he had shot Lindsey, we would need a lot of backup. "You guys stay back here, and I'll talk to them alone." I whispered, motioning with my hand for them to back off. Without a word Steven backed off, slowly followed by Rick. Brock pushed past me, slowly strolling through the doorway. "Enrico, where are you buddy?" He yelled into the open air. "I have some friends with me, and were trying to track down a murder. We need your help." I watched through a peephole as the overhead fan lights turned on. Men jumped down, most of them armed. The one in the front, a tall tanned man with a ripped tank top, spoke "And by chance are these people cops, Brock. Because you know how much I wouldn't like that." Even from fifteen feet away I could see Brock start to sweat. "These guys are just helping a family find out who killed their daughter, nothing more." Enrico nodded, "You have two minutes, and nothing that happens in this room goes out."
