"I'm sorry...about that night. If I had known that you were..." I wasn't going to wait for him to finish before I pointed out everything wrong that he was saying.
"It doesn't matter what I'm like! You still slaughtered my family, and no matter what you say that will never be okay." I told him sharply. The same saddened look glazed his eyes, but he shook it off. He cupped my cheek and I cringed, looking away from him. He forced my gaze back to him before saying anything.
"If I had known that you could touch me without fearing for your life I never would have touched your family." He said quietly, as we weren't very far apart. A tear slipped down my cheek and he brushed it away with his thumb. I stepped away from him and took a deep breath, rubbing my eyes.
"So...I-I could have saved them. All these years of grieving because some monster, whom I don't even know the name of, tore my life apart, and I could have saved them." I spoke quietly and didn't look at him.
"Fenrir." I turned around and stared at him. "My name is Fenrir." I nodded.
"Okay, Fenrir, then get out." I ordered him. He stared for a moment, nodded sadly and then did as I said. I'll admit that it surprised me that he listened, but it really didn't make a difference.
"Isabella?" A small voice asked from next to me. "Why did that man make you cry?" Cassie asked with a concerned look on her sweet face. Cassie and her family live down the alley. I babysit her sometimes so she's kind of like a little sister to me. I can't wait until she goes to Hogwarts and I can give her advice about guys and such. I would be doing that with Olivia now, had Fenrir not killed her. Sadly though, Cassie is only five.
I crouched down and rested a hand on her shoulder.
"A long time ago that man did something really bad to me. I haven't seen him since then and I really don't want to. He's a very bad man and if you ever see him go somewhere safe, okay?" I told her carefully.
"What did he do?" She asked, still looking concerned. I debated on whether or not to tell her.
"Um, well..." I took a deep breath and made a decision. "He killed my parents and little sister when I was fifteen." I told her gently. She gasped and covered her mouth.
"I'm sorry, Bella." She said and hugged me.
"It's okay, Cassie. That was a long time ago." I assured her. I probably shouldn't have told her, but there is no need for her to be sheltered from everything. Besides, older sisters are supposed to tell their little sisters things they don't need to know.
