Louis’ p.o.v.
Louis slowly made his way over to the theatre of the school. The theatre is where he spent most of his time. He slung his messenger bag over his right shoulder and walked to the doors of the theatre. Louis’ school had a theatre, not big, not small. The school had a ‘drama club’ for the kids who took drama classes. They could practice after school in the theatre. Louis took these drama classes too. He didn’t want to become an actor though. He wrote scripts. Louis was a shy guy and didn’t like people staring at him. His self esteem was so low he would have suicidal thoughts now and then, but no one ever noticed because let’s be honest; who would think the shy guy who was nice to everyone would want to kill himself. No one, right?
Louis felt happy at the theatre. The kids from the drama club were always happy and energetic. He enjoyed watching them play and sing. He enjoyed watching one boy in particular. Harry Styles.
Harry Styles was the popular kid. He had curly brown hair and sparkling green eyes. Louis wanted to run his hands through Harry’s curly hair since the first moment he saw him.
Louis never thought he was gay until he saw Harry for the first time at the beginning of last school year. He saw Harry walk in and his heart just started beating faster. The palms of his hands went sweaty and he felt butterflies in his stomach. He thought it was just some stupid crush, that he would get over it. But now, about 1,5 year later, he still feels all these things for Harry.
The thing is, Harry has a girlfriend called Taylor. She’s one of the cheerleaders of the school. She was popular, just like Harry. It killed Louis every day to see Harry and Taylor together, but Louis knew he would never have a chance. Because of three reasons: Harry wasn’t gay, Harry had a girlfriend and Harry was popular.
Louis wasn’t popular, hell he was almost invisible. Whenever his best friend Liam asked someone if they’d seen Louis, they didn’t know who he was talking about. Like no one knew Louis name, and no one ever paid attention to him, except for Liam.
Louis was kind of glad that no one ever paid attention to him. He moved here three years ago with his mother. He moved because he got bullied sick on his previous school back in Doncaster. Now he moved to London and that was much better.
Louis pushed open the doors of the theatre and walked over to his usual spot, at the left side of the theatre. He sat on the edge of the stage, next to the piano. Louis played the piano. He loved playing piano. He loved singing too, that was the thing that got him through all his hard times; making music.
The theatre was always kind of dark; the lights were dimmed.
After school, kids like Louis stayed behind at the theatre to practice and to sing. So did Harry Styles. The green eyed beauty who made Louis’ heart beat faster.
Today Harry wasn’t there though, no one was at the theatre yet and Louis looked around. Empty. He walked over to the changing rooms; empty.
When he found out no one was there he took a glance at the piano. He hadn’t played in almost a year since his mother didn’t have any money because of her drug addiction and had to sell their piano. Louis’ heart broke when he found out his mother had sold the piano. It was his only way of coping with things.
As the minutes passed, Louis hands itched more and more to play the piano. He looked around one more time before sitting down on the chair and placing his hands at the keys. This felt good.
Louis’ favourite band was The Fray. He hadn’t played any song for a long time and decided to play ‘how to save a life’ by The Fray. He played the intro a few times until he was sure he got the right notes and sat up straight.
